That was fucked up. Cop really was doing a good job there, even when it came to noticing the first firearm. He did nothing to escalate the issue.

Of course we know the dude opened fire because he knew long game the cop could likely piece a lot together about him (if there's a warrant out for him?), but even by criminal standards, that's low.

First time I did it, I wasn't rejoicing about dumping the old job, but just knowing I was able to move on because it was a move from a "meantime job" to something more career-oriented. Coworkers wanted to see me go. It was no secret I always had my eye on leaving, and I can respect management not treating me any different (well it was retail, people come and go).

Second time was just awkward because I was only there for two months. I could appreciate my boss' honesty. Dude was straight like "well you screwed me over", but really not in a dickish way. He just kept it business. Tried to counter offer but I don't go for that stuff because I don't trust it.

Third time.....I really didn't like the job and location and the dynamic I had with my supervisor. I understand he was getting old, I respect he made his business all on his own (he even worked with my dad). The people there were honestly great. But I just thought it was a real step behind in work culture. Professional, but dated. And working with my supervisor was just frustrating. Do work through the day only to undo it later. Again, not against him personally, but I knew life would pass me by.

This current job is ironically the opposite. Culture and office life is great, work itself doesn't seem as well put-together, and that problem is escalating quite a lot. But right now, I just don't really see what's the next ideal step.

For me it's just the throwback to a time that I've become so curious about. I grew up and been around the San Andreas vicinity, but I was a kid. I never knew what was going on let alone in certain neighborhoods. Literal wish in life would be to momentarily step back into the early 90's to know what it's like to be an adult and be independent in that time where I grew up.

Of course it's not accurate, but like Vice City, there's at least a sensationalized atmosphere. Interestingly enough the sky scapes of each city are just like I remember.

I want to say Defender, because I have a cousin who had the arcade cabinet.
I'm not 100% sure where that stands vs. other arcade games I played. Like I'm not sure how old the Pac Man table game I played was.

Pong/Tetris/Space Invaders etc, I've played renditions of them, but not on their native platforms.

I had a neighbor with a mess of cabinets, and he'd have a bit of an open house during halloween, but I never got to play anything.

Julia had a bit of a baby face. That plus her era-specific style on the show put her on the weird trajectory that she only got better-looking with time. I'm not even really sure her early style was actually realistic. I never saw other sitcom females dress like her.

But then again, that kinda was the point with Seinfeld. There is no normal really. In everyday life, each of us could be considered to have a weird sense of style.

all the card graders are completely overwhelmed right now. The time and money costs are very high, and only really worth it for cards that have big bonuses for high grades. if you're not experienced with grading enough yourself, find a hobby shop that's open and see if they can help you.

This. Since COVID lockdowns, the resale market for everything has blown up. The XY Charizard picked up for <$10 in maybe 7/10 condition in 2018, pretty much considered "not the real Charizard", has a stupid asking price now. And half the equation is the market is inflated, with a bunch of wannabe resellers piling in.

Reminds me of someone I know. From what I understand he was dominantly African American but also a bit Chinese. He noticeably just started squinting his eyes as he was more open about his Chinese heritage. It's not to shed light on a generalization or mockery. There was nothing to suggest there was any separate ocular condition. It literally just seemed so timely and deliberate he did that.

It's sort of like when you observe someone you know who came out and just started talking different out of the blue. You can't tell if that's really because they wanted to talk like that or its a forced look-the-part thing.

We've been on a push against minority injustice and are invested in seeking a due punishment for the Derek Chauvin case, while also trying to dissolve the media narratives of finger pointing towards African Americans for Asian hate crimes, but here we are.
