It most fits the idea of proving the reapers wrong. That would of worked better than the actual ME3 ending, but I never saw the Reapers as being an overwhelming unstoppable force. In Mass Effect 1 Soveriegn, who was probably the strongest Reaper besides Harbinger, was destroyed along with a Geth Fleet despite having the advantage of a true surprise attack and superior technology. That seems to be a universal consistent. Darmik posted... The real frustrating thing about the ending is how difficult it makes any sequels. All endings lead to some sort of major change or genocide of a species. Something like Star Wars and Halo can continue just fine because the major conflict was a war and the galaxy overall lives on. If I recall the original ending did not explicitly kill off AIs such as the geth in the destroy ending. Having that being the basis for future games would work pretty well.
