Other races are shitty and hateful about them and like to echo what in most things would be considered stereotypes about them but then half of them you meet actively are thieves, conniving merchants, etc. Even Morrowind, which generally has slightly more nuance than the rest of them has voice lines where they moan about how much they love smoking fantasy crack

its a really bad idea to make a thief race. Its an even worse idea to make every game either having them live up to their negative reputation in every way or pretend that that isnt a thing

Aeris honestly feels like one of the few things that game improved.
