On the one hand, I don't really support a minimum wage increase. But that's because what I really support is a complete restructuring of our society away from capitalism. That, unfortunately, isn't something that's realistically going to happen in a single step, so as a first step along that path I support UBI. However, UBI doesn't yet have the popular support to muster the considerable political will that it will take to be implemented. For the forseeable future, it appears that we're going to stay with the (highly flawed) idea that people must work jobs to sustain themselves. And in that environment, I support a minimum wage increase as the best available practical stopgap measure.

With that said, I don't think a setting the national minimum wage to a single specific value is the correct implementation, regardless of what value we pick that to be. As has already been pointed out, making $15/hr in Bumfuck, Alabackwoodsiana is a lot different than making $15/hr in New Las Metroangelisco. I think the implementation has to somehow take into consideration the variable costs of living across the nation (and yes, that has plenty of its own flaws, but see first paragraph).

Fair. Apparently your Taco Bell is worse than the ones around here (I always order fresco if I'm ordering a taco and it's always been right across at least three different locations in my town).

Half the time I order an item "fresco" at Taco Bell (which means no cheese, no sour cream) there's cheese on it. There's no ambiguity there. That's just the employees being idiots.

Also, as a lifelong vegetarian/vegan, it's gotten a lot better recently but for most of my life i'd order something with "no meat" on it and it'd come with meat. It's an easy job, people are just dumb.
Did you do anything to check if the order taker heard you correctly?

My orders are rarely messed up, and I eat fast food often enough. I'm pretty good at ordering, and if you don't think that makes a difference then you've clearly never worked order taking in fast food.

I believe it's murder because it is. And I'd be a little less peeved about it if people called it what it was.

There's just no valid argument to be made to the contrary:

A: If you claim the fetus isn't alive, then you're believing in the reanimation of dead matter.

B: If you claim it isn't human, then you're admitting we can shift between different species.

C: If you claim it isn't fully developed, then you're stating that there's a physical/mental threshold that one must meet in order to be entitled to human rights.

You have to pick one.
If I could have saved someone's life by donating a lung to them, and I chose not to do so, have I committed murder?

I did a little searching and found this extremely well researched essay on the Harry/Ginny that was written before book 6 was published: http://www.sugarquill.net/index.php?action=gringotts&st=hglovered

It hits every point I made in my previous post (up through the end of book 5), gives better explanations with more context, and provides a lot more evidence as well as several additional lines of argument that all support the buildup of the Harry/Ginny pairing. I especially like the discussion around the use of third person limited; I knew this was a part of the foreshadowing I had noticed but I couldn't figure out how to talk about it when I wrote my reply. It's long but it's worth a look.

The arena where he kept playing that reversal opening was beautiful and hilarious to watch.

That Carlsen/Nakamura triple Bongcloud draw wasn't as beautiful, but it was absolutely hilarious.

I'd like to read more elaboration on this.
Books 1 and 2 set up the initial attraction from Ginny. Harry is famous, and friendly with her family, she has a massive crush on him, and then he saves her life. Book 3 has multiple examples of her continuing crush, and also has a moment where Harry and Ginny clearly share amusement about Percy (continuing from the end of book two). Midway through book 3 Harry meets Cho Chang who is his main crush for the next couple of books.

By book 4, Ginny has figured out how to not be completely obvious about her attraction. She starts interacting with Harry regularly through her family (during the summer) and her friendship with Hermione (while at school), and she mostly plays it cool. A key passage that shows she is still attracted happens in the lead-up to the Yule Ball. First, when Harry mentions that he had asked Cho to the ball, we get this one line paragraph:
Ginny had suddenly stopped smiling.
Later in that scene, when Ron offhandedly suggests Ginny could go with Harry, she is first embarrassed and then looks miserable as she explains that she's going with Neville.

In book 5, you see Harry and Ginny establishing a decent level of friendship, what with her hanging out with the trio over the summer, then taking the train with Harry (because Ron and Hermione are prefects), and of course being in the DA. It's also where we start seeing her display skills in two areas that Harry is good at: combat-capable magic and quidditch. She also calls him out a few times. I think this passage is particularly key:
I didnt want anyone to talk to me, said Harry, who was feeling more and more nettled.
Well, that was a bit stupid of you, said Ginny angrily, seeing as you dont know anyone but me whos been possessed by You-Know-Who, and I can tell you how it feels.
Harry remained quite still as the impact of these words hit him.
Then he turned on the spot to face her.
I forgot, he said.
Lucky you, said Ginny coolly.
Im sorry, Harry said, and he meant it. So . . . so do you think Im being possessed, then?
Well, can you remember everything youve been doing? Ginny asked. Are there big blank periods where you dont know what youve been up to?
Harry racked his brains.
No, he said.
Then You-Know-Who hasnt ever possessed you, said Ginny simply. When he did it to me, I couldnt remember what Id been doing for hours at a time. Id find myself somewhere and not know how I got there.
Harry hardly dared believe her, yet his heart was lightening almost in spite of himself.
Through the rest of the book, the friendship between Harry and Ginny continues to strengthen, first when she replaces (and impresses) Harry as seeker when he gets kicked off the team, and later when she helps originate and later execute the plan to contact Sirius. She's one of very few people outside of Ron and Hermione who Harry repeatedly takes advice from. Also, it's subtle but I think clear that Ginny still cares for Harry, most obviously in the scene where she argues passionately for joining the trio on the trip to the Ministry. It's also notable that she has multiple exchanges with Harry where they share a bit of a joke with a look or a brief phrase; I don't remember anything similar with anyone else outside the trio.

And then of course there's book six, which has a ton of setup leading up to the moment when Harry "suddenly" realizes that he's attracted to Ginny. I particularly like this passage when they board the train to Hogwarts:
He tapped Ginny on the shoulder.
Fancy trying to find a compartment?
I cant, Harry, I said Id meet Dean, said Ginny brightly. See you later.
Right, said Harry. He felt a strange twinge of annoyance as she walked away, her long red hair dancing behind her; he had become so used to her presence over the summer that he had almost forgotten that Ginny did not hang around with him, Ron, and Hermione while at school. Then he blinked and looked around: He was surrounded by mesmerized girls.
So yeah. Harry may have been clueless about Ginny until almost halfway through book six, when he was forced to acknowledge her sexuality by walking in on her making out with someone. Notably, this is after he's been single for a while, and has had time to process Sirius's death. But, I saw the potential coming from back in book 4 when the little hints from the earlier books kept showing up more and more often.

(Also, no chance it was a love potion--he's practicing with the team and then encouraging Ron leading up to them walking in on Ginny+Dean).

Neither the books or movies set this romance up well at all, its so forced and terrible.
It's forced in the movies because the movies don't do the setup work that the books do. If you pay attention in the books, it's easy to see how Ginny is attracted to Harry and succeeds in winning him by becoming someone who can challenge him.

YYYYMMDD makes sense, in that it moves from less specific to more specific. It tracks with how we write numbers (larger, less specific digits on the left moving to more specific on the right).

Who does year - day - month? I don't see much merit in that ordering.

Properly chlorinated pool water is lethal to coronaviruses, so this largely comes down to if you think the YMCA maintains their pool well. Worth noting if the pool has a strong "clorine" smell, that's a sign that it is not being maintained well.
