It's because Inafune was a major proponent of outsourcing franchises to Western game studios, with the idea being that the Japanese gaming industry needed to get with the times. May not have helped that many gaming outlets began to slam the old DMC games as being outdated camp plus the whole Tameem saga, basically being one of the first cases of "gamers vs. the media" which would become more prominent as the decade wore on. --- Why do people act like the left is the party of social justice crusaders? |

Closest would be Arnold Schwarzenegger (hit with sexual assault allegations in 2003 which failed to prevent his election as California governor) and Sean Connery (history of defending domestic abuse and forced himself on Kim Basinger on the set of Never Say Never Again). Then uh I guess Bill Murray and Linda Hamilton are guilty of domestic abuse? By contrast, one of my favorite actresses is one of Harvey Weinstein's accusers. --- Why do people act like the left is the party of social justice crusaders? |

Which is itself kinda annoying since AoU was so heavily criticized at the time for prioritizing setting up future movies over its own story, and so now people are rewarding that? Honestly the Avengers movies (aside from Age of Ultron), to me, feel like movies that accomplish what they set out to do and not much more. I don't remember if I mentioned this earlier, but I first saw Iron Man 1 and The First Avenger after seeing Endgame and those two movies felt more poignant knowing what was in store for Iron Man and Cap. To be fair I had a general idea of how the MCU had progressed, so it wasn't TOO jarring to head from Avengers 1 to Ragnarok and then from there to Infinity War. --- Why do people act like the left is the party of social justice crusaders? |
