Who can you trust to reveal what's going on to?Eh, you could get some mileage out of it but I could see it getting old after awhile. Also a lot of the fun is creating your own character to role play as. Maybe an extended side quest would be the best way. Have all of the characters transformed into clones of some other NPC. They all have to continue on while searching for a way to change back. I think I'd have to say that SMW is my favorite of the two, but SM3 is probably technically the better game imo.The opposite for me. SMB3 has a lot of issues with game balance and is not as fluid a game experience. Also being able to move around freely and do levels over was really needed in SMB3. The SMW physics are executed better. But I love SMB3 more. Possibly more than any platformer, ever. I love how it just throws tons of stuff at you. I love how slapdash and random it feels at times. I love all the different suits, even if I always seem to lose the coolest ones less than 30 seconds into the level. I. Love. This. You know how sometimes Andy Kaufman would act like a nasty, horrible person, often offensive (like how he would say horribly misogynistic things to goad women into wrestling him)... Even Andy took things too far a lot of the time if you ask me, and it made people feel really shitty at the time. But there are a lot of comics who see that, and think if they do that and take it to the next level, they can be seen as edgy geniuses the way a lot of people saw Andy as one. I do think he enjoyed himself, in the perverse way an actor might enjoy playing a serial killer, or a murderous N-word throwing racist in a Quentin Tarantino movie. And he thought everyone would "get it" because he has no empathy. As a white guy who has never lived with racism, he can hear horribly racist things and just laugh at how fucked up they are. It's easy if you're a white person who has always been surrounded by other white people who never have serious thoughts or discussion about race. None of that seems real to you, so you can just laugh at it. And he assumes everyone else will be able to laugh too. He doesn't understand, and he probably never really will understand. I doubt he'll ever even try to understand. Deep down he obviously still thinks people were too sensitive and everyone would forgive him if they knew he was "just joking" and would never want to actually do violence to a black person. I don't think he hates black people, just that he's never cared enough to really think about their humanity. He has never cared enough to really think about race. He just has a shallow "racism is bad but I'm kit going to think about how it's ingrained into our society" perspective on race that was maybe moderately progressive for a white guy when he was a kid in the 70s, and has stayed there. It was never funny, it always made the audience uncomfortable, but he kept doing it thinking he could break through and be the next edgy Andy Kaufman or something. It's racist, but not in the sense that he hates black people. Rather in the sense that he doesn't get black people, or racism, and thinks he's entitled to always get the benefit of the doubt on everything. The fun is in overcoming those difficulties. The fighting mechanics aren't all that interesting in and of themselves. The story is okay but not great. The characters aren't compelling. This is fine because the game is built around the challenge, and it's better to keep the other stuff simple. But take away the challenge and it's boring.
