Do you guys think this game is a good indicator of what playing Wild Rift on a console will be like? Hopefully it has better auto attack mechanics. Like I try to get used to using the right stick to select the 'mon to focus on and most of the time it screws me up more than it helps. I did turn off most of the aim assist and auto select target stuff for skill shots but the auto attacking itself still often trips me up.

Ah Injection Fairy Lilly! I have memories of that card! I went to a Saturday tournament at our local Books-a-Million and drug my sister along because it was a doubles tournament. We were doing great and crushing people(I basically just played both decks, telling my sister exactly what to do lol) until we came up against two try hard probably rich kids, and they pulled out double IFL against us and completely annihilated us. I was dumb struck and kept reading the cards over and over because they were just so incredibly broken to me. I never went to another tournament there lmao.

Yeah I did a quick look and it's because the vanilla monsters usually used in conjunction are already 0/0 so that part is kinda moot. I think I've splashed in a 6* for making specific extra summons but that's about it.

Also just a small detail, but the Hieratic's don't changed their atk/def to 0 but run a set of vanilla 8* with 0 atk/def. Wait, that's not exactly accurate either I think one of them summons but then it becomes 0? Geez I can't even remember and it's hasn't been that long lol. But anyway yeah it's just to get them out as Xyz material.

But anyway I just love their Egyptian dragon aesthetic, you don't see that often.

I was never a fan of their gimmick which revolves around summoning other dragons and giving them 0 atk/def, mainly because the purpose is to go into synchros/xyzs. I will say Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis is probably worth a mention as it's really good and I like the way it looks, but meh.

Dragunity
This is an archetype revolving around using other dragunity cards as equip cards, but kind of the same as Heiratics, usually goes into the types I don't like. Also, they are mostly distinctly humanoid in design which I've said I don't really like either.

My two favorite dragon archetypes lol.

Another of Gengar weaknesses I've noticed is shields. Unless I'm crazy, if you hit a shielded opponent with sludge bomb, it doesn't do the dot because everytime, I lose my hex that way.

Also idk what the fuck item it was but there was a Lucario I went up against who just had a constant shield literally all the time and I was completely worthless against him.

The fact that you can team up for ranked is stupid. Kinda defeats the point.

Anyway I'm enjoying this way more than I anticipated. My old League skills are coming in handy so it's been nice curb-stomping kids. I've really warmed up to Cinderace which is interesting since I haven't played SwSh. But he's a ranged auto attacker and it's so much easier to kite people around than with the mouse since it auto targets lol.

I'm loving this topic! Lots of nostalgia seeing some of the older cards I haven't thought about in forever. I have a similar story to some here in that I played in jr/high school and stopped for quite a few years before I got back into it really hardcore back in like... 2010 or 11? Synchros were in full swing. I think one of the first sets I remember coming out when I got back into it was the Ragnarok one? When I got to them on Legacy of the Duelist I got really excited for no reason lol.

Anyway, I quit playing irl right as Xyz were coming onto the scene. But continued through duel links for a while so I'm still fairly familiar with that period. I still don't know a lot about pendulum but they seem really stupid(broken) from my limited knowledge lol.
