Its why I feel like Kapernick kneeling for an entire season was a bit overdrawn. Three or four games at most would have set the curve because then you can draw attention to those specific acts without making it a long-term thing. Youre not angry at the country, just the issues it refuses to address. Continually doing it starts to lapse over into being a rebel or trying to be a martyr if the hammer comes down (which it did). But if you make your statement clear and concise, you can always refer back to it and explain why in that moment it mattered.
If he had stopped after a few games (when the problem was absolutely not solved) people would have pointed to that as evidence that his concern wasn't genuine. There's no perfect goldilocks amount or tactic that would satisfy Kaepernick's critics.

Florida public school students might soon have a required moment of silence at the start of each day under a measure passed Thursday by the Florida Senate and headed to Gov. Ron DeSantis desk.

The Senate voted 32-6 to pass the bill (HB 529), which was approved by the House last month in a 94-24 vote.

Under the measure, school principals would be required to direct first-period teachers to institute a one- to two-minute moment of silence at the beginning of each day.

Lawmakers have considered similar proposals in previous years but have not passed them.

Under the bill, teachers would not be able to make suggestions as to the nature of any reflection that a student may engage in during the moment of silence, and students may not interfere with other students participation.

The measure also would direct teachers to encourage parents to talk with students about the moment of silence and to make suggestions as to the best use of the time.

Senate sponsor Dennis Baxley, R-Ocala, said that part of the measure should alleviate concerns that teachers could influence how students use the silent time.

It remains very clear in the wording of this bill that parents and guardians are the ones responsible for a discussion with their child about whats the appropriate content of that time. We dont want that responsibility on the teacher, Baxley said.

Opponents of the measure have argued that mandating a moment of silence in public schools blurs the line between church and state.

I think PSG was the more interesting omission. You could expect fan-owned teams to react in this manner, but PSG is owned by a billionaire who immediately stated that his team would not participate.
PSG is owned by a Qatari billionaire who also owns a network that has TV rights to the UCL, so it's pretty clear the logic at play there.

Is a league where teams can keep their place without paying for talent really better for players? Also, the ESL was looking to implement a salary cap that would see a smaller share of revenue going to players.

Most North American pro sports don't have enough teams to make promotion/relegation feasible. Baseball, maybe, if the minors weren't affiliates of major league teams.
Well, an argument could be made that things would look very different if baseball had structured itself the way European soccer did in the last 1800s
