friend gets conveniently knocked out so Clark can use his powers to save the day.

My point is that you need to address someone's most potent point before you say something is "incomparable." If someone makes an argument that stock A is a better investment than stock B, and their argument is Stock A has billion dollar more profit each year at a lower valuation and also that his 5 year old daughter likes stock As name better, you address the valuation. The daughter bit isn't even worth discussing.

His style is to really get down into the details and explore the setting and characters. He doesn't need to speed up; he's going at his own pace, and his pace is my ideal. Everything simmers, everything stirs, and when those things come to their boiling point, they're good and ready to come out with their full potential.

he doesnt offer enough substance to justify simmering in those simple details. its not like Mad Men where the show goes slow because every line has like three meanings behind it. he goes for the pacing/aesthetic of a weighty drama that wants you to think about things and soak them in while everything thats happening is incredibly simple.

Such a shame they forced him to cut it down for theatrical release. UE is vastly superior, and I say that as someone who enjoyed the theatrical cut twice in theaters.

dude needs to be more economical with his storytelling. like come on there are phenomenal movies that fit dense characterization and narrative in a 2 hour runtime. theres no reason you cant do that with batman and superman.
