I've worked at Goodwill. I can tell you that a lot of stuff isn't from dead people, but just people giving us some garbage with donations mixed in.

No we never washed the clothes when I worked there, and they still don't. A group of people sort through the donated soft (clothes, blankets, and pillow cases etc). They then only put out non-dirty clothes in good condition. The rest is "recycled" ... I'm sorry Africa. I truly hate the penny for a pound system :( .

Section 31 was one of the worst things Trek ever did, because it gave terrible writers carte blanche to do whatever crazy shit they wanted to that goes against everything the Federation stands for.

Yeah I agree. DS9 walked that fine balance pretty well but I can see DIS has just said "fuck it."

S2:E6 - The Sounds of Thunder

This was a fucking great episode. Why can't DIS be more like this?! We got to learn a lot about two new species (I loved that both an intelligent prey and predator species evolved on the same planet). That twist was fucking awesome, and it was nice to see the sphere data make an appearance. And the message of both the Batlu(?) and Kelpiens having to learn to live in peace and find a new balance, was very Trek.

My only nitpick was not seeing the Batlu much, and the Red Angel having to prevent the genocide from occurring, and not the Batlu from stopping themselves and giving peace a chance. Would have felt more Trek in that regards.

That's some pretty bad fan fiction. Well now I know the origins of Mary Sue.

S2:E5 -

This episode sucked..... like really sucked.

That annoying spore organism came back for most of the episode.

The doctor who never should have been killed in the first place, is brought back in a completely ridiculous way even by ST standards.

Tyler comes back.... All of his speaking parts should just be given to one of the bridge crew.

And the worst part of this episode? Section 31 not only coming back... but now rewriting canon and establishing that apparently half of fucking starfleet knows about section 31.

By the end of the episode I just tuned out and was glad that it over.

Mmmmmm bacon.

Damn this thread is taking me back. I enjoyed the crew I worked with, lots of fun. I still remember the donated mint condition N64, two controllers, and Mario Kart.

I used to work at Goodwill. Because of how the company is set up, every Goodwill in each different state, and ON plus AB is run differently and semi-independent from eachother. So your shopping experience and working experience can be quite different from someone else in the next state over.

Even ENT started to grow on me after awhile. I'm still waiting to see if the Star wars sequels will.

Hopefully the senate doesn't delay this bill.

S2:E4 - An Obol for Charon

What a great Saru centered episode. I'm happy to have learned more about him, and his race seems both tragic and interesting. I hope they explore the Kelpians(?) and this Apex predator race some more. I have a feeling these predators that eat Kelpians are asshats!

I'm hoping this annoying tilly parasite organism goes away soon! The hunt for Spock is now officially on.

S2:E3 - Point of Light

Blah... I didn't like this episode. I never cared for Tyler or these DIS Klingons. They have hair now at least. I feel like the only reason this Klingon arc of the episode existed was just to reintroduce Section 31 -_____-

I'm glad that annoying ghost organism was pulled out of Tilly. She was annoying the fuck outta me.

I'm also really not getting pulled into the whole scary red angel shit. It's just more blah to me right now.

I was happy to see the hologram of the D7 Battlecruiser :)

S2:E2 - New Eden

Ok, so this was a Star Trek episode. Discovery actually made an episode that felt like Trek. The Bridge Crew actually had things to do and say, and one of them actually went down on an away mission!

Meeting an "older" pre-warp human civilization was such a TOS thing to do. They also dealt with the prime directive, and religion versus science. Just like Trek would in the old days.

I'm curious to finally see Spock. I hope Discovery doesn't blow it.

S2:E1 - Brother

Captain Pike was great, he really gave me that TOS vibe. I loved seeing the original uniforms again. The Enterprise looked nothing like the original. Both outside and inside. I remember when DS9 did that TOS anniversary episode, the amount of detail that went into duplicating the original enterprise. They just said fuck it for DIS.

I liked the asteroid scene. I have no idea what those fast little flying pods were though. Also I felt that they should have included one of the much seen but never heard bridge crew, instead of that red shirt engineer. She came outta nowhere.

S1:E15 - Will You Take My Hand?

What a lackluster season finale. It was boring. Only highlight was Georgiou, the Orions didn't even look green enough. Not one battle. I don't think they even once fired a phaser. I'm glad Tylers gone, and no more weird Klingon ptsd story arc.

I liked seeing the Enterprise at the end, and it was neat to hear the ToS theme.
