Had a dream where I was in a boss fight with I and could only kill it by activating these flame jets around the arena. Thankfully I dreamed up a way to break its AI, so I got it stuck walking into a wall until it became vulnerable (had to wait for it to become vulnerable for some reason). Meanwhile in reality, you face it in an area where you're stripped of your weapons and all you can do is run and hide. EA may be a bunch of dumbasses, but if they're building directly off DS1, it'll be hard to screw up with a foundation that solid. But don't forget this quote by the developer of Dusk: EA drove a great horror IP into the ground, axed the studio behind it, and now a few years later are hoping to sell you warmed up leftovers of the potential they squandered. Nice. The only reason they're letting DS come back is because, risk-averse as they are, they waited for someone else to take the risk on a AAA horror game first to see if it would succeed. And the success of Resident Evil 7/8 was their cue. Maybe we would have seen this earlier if Silent Hills had come out. Just remember, even if they do fuck this up, there's still hope. It's a problem in Stardew Valley (where basically every player is going to use a magnetized ring) and in Cozy Grove when the backpack bugs start showing up. If you never played, then allow me to explain: you used a weapon (or grenade) to slag (cover enemy with purple goo) an enemy to do more damage to it. Then switch to another weapon to do DPS.And with how Ultimate Vault Hunter mode gave enemies quadrupled health that regenerated, plus the boosted potency of slag, you HAD to have some reliable way of slagging everything or you were just fucked. Some people took to calling it Ultimate Slag Hunter Mode. Both are "insta-fail if spotted" type missions, and eavesdropping is even worse because you have to stay close to someone on top of all that. The worst ones were in IV, not just because everything else was great, but it was also incredibly far removed from the awesome sailing. Thankfully they've done away with those kinds of missions. Death is pretty much the only way to get a game over now, along with killing civilians. Having to hold down a button to do a basic action, even if it is only half a second (picking up items in Mad Max and Mafia III). There is literally no reason a single button press wouldn't suffice, especially since the hold time is small enough to be a press, anyway. I mean, am I going to change my mind and be like, "actually, I don't want this item that has no downsides to taking it and having large quantities"? The stupid "realistic outdoor/indoor lighting" thing where going in a building from the outside makes the inside darker for a moment before it adjusts to be normal, while exiting makes the outside bright for a moment. Making fake difficulty by taking away all your awesome stuff. The colosseum fight from Dying Light is my personal example. And Undermine, a roguelike game, makes you fight the final boss from the main lobby, where your fresh character that just entered doesn't have any items aside from the permanent stat upgrades. Best you can hope for is that the lobby shop sells something decent so you have a better chance to survive long enough to get better items during the battle. Any time you have a limited time to loot an area before you have to leave stuff behind or die. Content that is locked behind you doing well at a mini-game that plays drastically differently from the main game (Yakuza and all its gambling and rhythm games). Real-world timers, quintupally so if it's just to push microtransactions. Equipment that's only worth a damn if you never, ever get hit. Being unable to 100% complete a game if you didn't do something during the main story (the Strong Bad games are extremely guilty of this). And while this isn't a mechanic, it really annoys me when developers quickly patch out beneficial bugs/exploits, but leave bad ones alone. Like GTAV removing underwater money suitcases from single-player mode, or Assassins Creed Valhalla destroying spear fishing by making the fish flee earlier and faster. Even without my interference, it's not going well. The vast majority of their twigs just fall out. These things don't seem too bright. Really, I'd be glad to let them build there, but this umbrella is susceptible to being knocked over by strong winds, especially when we start making the transition between cold and warm seasons. I hope the female isn't pregnant yet. And apparently, when eggs are laid, they come with a protective coating that keeps them fresh for months without the need to refrigerate them. Me and the mom went to their therapy animal farm and met their two big fluffy dogs, their one year old calf who licked my shorts, and I befriended two of the cats there. There's two double beds, but my brother is refusing them use it on the basis that he doesn't get in bed with guys. Come on, dude, I'm your freaking BROTHER. If there's one guy you can trust to not get frisky with you, it's me! He has to be joking. Where he's actually going to sleep tonight remains to be seen. We got to visit my aunt and while she does have some memory problems and find it tiring to sit up, she seems to be doing okay. Due to covid restrictions, we could only do two visitors at a time. Like I said last time, my aunt is so old that I'm surprised she's still alive, so this could likely be the last time I'll ever get to see her.
