You can't have it both ways. You can't virtue signal when it is convenient and then try to fall back on reason when its your head on the chopping block. They're the most complete, the only version that has a lot of the bonus content and easiest to find/play. The PSP versions of 1, 2 and 4 are alright. I believe the 4 PSP release also includes the After Years, but doesn't have all of the cool bonus stuff from the GBA release (like the dungeons that let you use the party members that aren't in the endgame party) FF3 - Right now you just have the shitty 3D DS version, but hopefully the upcoming pixel remaster makes it so you can finally play this game proper. Otherwise you're best off finding a translation patched ROM FF7 - Probably the Steam version FF8 - Remastered version on PS4 FF9 - Don't bother playing this trash FFX/X-2 - HD Remaster FFXI - You can pick this up pretty cheap on steam sales, and they have all sorts of incentives and campaigns to bring players in for free. If you're interested, I would wait for the next Free login campaign to dip your toes in. Next year is the 20th anniversary, so I suspect they will be doing all sorts of promotions FFXII - HD Remaster Tactics - PSP version hands down --- Props to azuarc, the current Guru of the Decade. I've been trying since Stormblood, but its impossible to solo and noone was ever intersted in doing it. You have to love how Square uses the relic grind to get people to play old content like that. A lot of things would be impossible to do without a large group of people premade if not for relic quests. Also cleared PotD level 100 last night. It is this type of irresponsible behavior from unaccountable State bureaucrats that are driving many of the States best businesses out of California. There have been BA runs going on in Hydatos almost every night. At this rate I'll have my Physeos and full elemental healer gear by end of the week. The thing that sucks is I enter Hydatos planning to grind crystals for all my other job final weapons, but end up doing BA every day. It's not just new players, there seems to be a lot of high level players online as well, which is crazy because usually the post x.5 patch the game is fucking dead until the next expansion comes out. 2 of my close IRL friends also resubbed for the first time since Stormblood 4.0 ended --- Props to azuarc, the current Guru of the Decade. Usually the game is a ghost town between the x.5 patch and the next expansion dropping. Seems as though all the publicity and big streamers like Asmongold switching have attracted a TON of new players which is great to see. I just wish he didn't roll on my server, as any time he is streaming there is a server queue in the hundreds. I was actually at an industry conference in the UK last February just as news was starting to come out of China, and I actually suspect I caught it because my wife had a really bad cold right after I got home from London.
