I like Anelace but at the same time you have to do more than just be present with an entertaining personality to stand out in a cast of characters as strong as this game's.

I don't think I ever hated Renne at any point, but your perspective on her changes a lot over the course of the series and I'd say I only thought she was a mid-tier character at best as of SC chapter 3.

Actually can't believe I didn't think of this one but Zero no Kiseki and Ao no Kiseki are also definitely up there, albeit maybe for slightly different reasons than some of the other answers in this topic. (At least the JRPG ones, can't really comment on Mass Effect)

The standouts for me in this regard are Persona 4 and Tales of Berseria.

Yeah idk it's sort of hard to say. Skyward Sword has Ancient Cistern and Sandship which are quite possibly my 2 favorite dungeons in the series, and the rest are also pretty solid for the most part. Wind Waker has the most consistently good dungeons. OoT has some real low points early but is basically non-stop hits after Door of Time. (I should clarify I am not counting Ice Cavern/Bottom of the Well here...)

I'm not a huge fan of TP's dungeons but I am in the minority there. Think my main point of disagreement is City in the Sky which I just don't like at all.

Yeah I guess for me it's a bit different in that I think they're basically all high tier but not best-of-the-best.

I guess Forsaken Fortress 2 is the exception if we're counting that, which I honestly just forgot about.

Wind Waker had the best dungeons of any 3D Zelda on average imo. Probably the best Wind Waker dungeons aren't quite as good as the other series greats like OoT Forest Temple or whatever, but there's also not a single stinker like Jabu-Jabu's Belly for example.

That Twilight Princess writeup really irritates me because the game was good despite its bad dungeons and items due mostly to its really strong start and the atmosphere it created.
