That's wonderful Cleo. Hopefully he keeps at this pace of helpfulness and doesn't fall back into old ways.

I assume you're letting him know how much this extra effort on his part means to you. Maybe that way he'll continue being mindful of these things. My wife and I always make it a point to praise each other for things even if it's something that's expected of us. I always thank her for the meals she makes us and she always thanks me for the cleaning/mopping around the house. That way we know the other isn't take the little every day things for granted.

I could see that for sure. For some reason one of my favorite go-to games when drinking was Rory golf, or NHL online games. I'd get up the next day and see my record is like 7 wins better and didn't remember playing them.

I did a lot of Saint's Row when drinking too, so I could see the GTA appeal.

I'm kind of amazed with Yakuza and how many stores and businesses you can actually go into. Everyone praises that Sleeping Dogs game and I always felt like it was a bit generic as a somewhat open world game. Yakuza feels a lot better and much more alive in the city.
I did really enjoy Sleeping Dogs. It's what a Chinese GTA should have been.

Yakuza has always been about showing off the city and how it evolves from game to game. It's a small, dense map with tons to explore. I love how in depth it gets with its mini games.

I started Yakuza 0 last night. I thought the phone booth was the only way to save in this one, but if there's a menu option i'm gonna feel dumb. I guess I just assume and rely on auto save in most games anymore I really don't manual save anymore unless I feel like there's a turning point I might want to go back to.
I've only played 0-4 and some of them rely on phone booths and others let you save anytime through the pause menu. I'm not sure which does which.

Guys there's a CRANE GAME in Yakuza where the fuck was I when I was drinking i'd play this shit for hours.

I shamelessly sink quarters into the crane game whenever I see one IRL, i'm pretty good at it.
I do enjoy the crane game. I know this isn't something you want to hear but the Yakuza series is my favorite game to play drunk. Perfect level of simple but complicated gameplay.

Yeah and some of the older games require you to visit phone booths to save. Thankfully the newer ones allow you to save anywhere.

Tattoo a ring on your finger? I know several guys that did that cause the work in a factory and can't wear their wedding ring. Honestly my ring doesn't me. I got used to it really quick and now I feel naked if I leave the house without it like my watch.

Also you could always snatch one of her rings when she isn't looking. Another thought is to go pick out rings together. That's what my wife and I did. But there also wasn't a proposal with us. We just decided together to get married.

I finished Y0 a bit ago and started Kiwami. And honestly, there is more chemistry between Kiryu/Nishiki/Mama and interiority of Kiryu's personality and humanity in the first ten minutes than there is in the entirety of Yakuza 0. Kiryu and Nishiki's relationship didn't feel lived out at all in 0. Closest they got was baseball and buying the suit. Kiryu was always pushing Nishiki away and I get why but it clearly hurt Nishiki so bad. Nishiki barely smiles one time in that game.
Agreed. I felt like Kiryu's personality took a backseat in Y0 cause they were so focused on Majima.

That's interesting. I might end up looking into it then. I was also an Assistant Scout master for a few years in my old troop once turning 18/getting Eagle so that would help in my favor.

That's really fucked up and I'm sorry that was your experience. Local troops have a lot of freedom in how they run their meetings. I've seen several bad troops like that but the number of good troops out there outweigh them considerably.

I'm so, so disappointed in the organization in allowing this all to happen. I was in the Boy Scouts growing up, and it was an incredible experience for me. The leaders we had are some of the best men I have ever met. I feel a lot of shame that so many children were hurt by the organization that was so beloved to me.

I was looking forward to encouraging my son to be part of the boy scouts. But now I don't want to expose him to any of this garbage. Though maybe I should become a local leader myself to try to recreate the experience I had for the future's youth.
I feel the same. I've thought about becoming an assistant scoutmaster again but it wouldn't fly unless you either grew up in that troop or had a kid in the troop. Just a random adult male attempting to become a leader would throw some red flags. Having a kid is probably the only way I'll be able to experience Philmont again. Though by the time they'd be of age, the BSA or Philmont might no longer exist.

@MabusIncarnate when I played BotW on Switch, a lot of motion controls were turned on by default and they were so wonky they drove me crazy in some shrines. I actually turned them off in the options menu and my life got exponentially better.

Also Ni Nu Kuni is a solid game. It took me a while to get used to the battle system but ended up really enjoying it. The story is great but the acting from the main characters are flat and awful. The art style was one of the main selling points when it came out cause they were done by Studio Ghibli. They're the anime studio that made Spirited Away and tons other anime movies that are highly regarded. Disney does own the rights to sell their movies in the US so you weren't too far off.

Considering you're using your own equipment, expect 95% of the time they'll just blame your equipment and refuse to help you. I'm in IT so I'm able to do enough troubleshooting before hand so they don't question much when I call them. Also thankfully Verizon now lets you purchase their routers to own so I can have their equipment but not pay the rental fee.

Yeah this is complete BS. That more than enough for gaming and streaming(you can do those things with 10mbps). That tech had no idea what was wrong so he said to just throw more mbps at the issue.

Also I've never heard of a modem or router power cycling itself because there was no internet connection. Considering your replacement also did the same thing, don't rule out an electrical issue with the outlet. Try moving the equipment somewhere else in the apartment and test.
