I don't identify as a man now (nb) but I was seriously sexually assaulted by an ex, if she had a penis it would be considered rape. Also had a teenager try to force himself on me when I was 8 in a public toilet.

The majority of modern comic book movies are trash. MCU is only good when they make some effort at resembling a comic book. The whole universe thing is massively overstated in terms of how amazing it supposedly is.

DC were onto something good in 89/90s with Batman. Giving a director with a decent vision the means to take a comic book property and turn into something distinct is a lot better than most of what came after. Zack Snyder is at least someone with a vision, it's just a terribly boring and grim dark one.

It's better than Oblivion, nowhere near as good as Morrowind. The other two main series games are too dated to be relevant. It's not a great game, it's far too shallow and generic for that. Neither is it shit.

I dislike the idea that you're a bigot if you don't like a movie that's progressive. Quality cinema, engaging characters, and a good story are what matter first and foremost. I'm not going to see a film that looks boring, and that I've heard from others is boring, simply because the protagonist is Black or female. I'm pro-inclusion. But inclusion doesn't mean anything if the characters aren't good enough to hold the audience's interest.

Basically, I dislike the idea that *anything* is beyond criticism. That's how extremism sets in. "Questioning our methods is unpatriotic." "Second-guessing us is blasphemous." "Calling us out on bullshit efforts is racist/sexist/fascist, etc."
I don't really care about this obvious dog whistle of a post but the bolded part is a an opinion I struggle not to challenge when expressed so boldly. Cinema is a visual medium firstly and most importantly, storytelling and characters are not required to make a good film. Sadly most people seem to share that opinion and I'd be mentally exhausted if I challenged any slight expressions of it.

Same for people who think TV is better than movies, especially if they bring up the length allowing for better character development. Makes me think they're a total idiot and I usually have to say something

They're mostly poorly used these days but most of my favourite films from the 70s to 90s have a decent number of sex scenes. A thing back then is that because producers knew that a lot of the audience would pay just to see some nudity and sex they'd allow writers and directors to experiment and get a little weird. Especially in Japan with pink films.

There's this weird take on sex scenes in movies that gets repeated by multiple accounts on twitter word for word every few months, can't remember it off the top of my head but I find it very suspicious.,
