so what do you do with a pet tarantula? is it like having fish where you just observe it/them?
Generally, yes. Some can tolerate small amounts of handling, but its safer amd less stressful to the spider to treat them like a fish. They are low maintenance display pets.

She expanded her tunnel last night while I was at work. Her tunnel now goes 4-5 inches deep (to the bottom), then along the side edge (12 inches), then about halfway (so far) around the front edge (12 inches across total; enclosure is 12 x 12 x 8). I just fed her a dubia roach which she quickly nom-nomed.

She is fun to watch, but she hides every time I open the enclosure so I haven't been able to hold her yet.

My other invert (emperor scorpion) does almost nothing, is never out, and I'm not even sure if it's eating. I tried feeding it meal worms when I first got it. It didn't like those, so I got these dubia roaches. I've given it three so far, and two are definitely alive and uneaten.

I'm wondering if I'm caring for it wrong. It has almost the exact same setup as the T. albo (3-4 inches coconut soil, top layer of sphagnum moss, 95+% humidity, 72 degrees F, small water dish.
Empererors are very sedentary scorpions in my experience. If you are worried its not eating enough, keep an eye on the fleshy bit on its sides. If its malnourished the top and bottom exoskeleton plates will be very close together. If it is overly thin, I would try crickets. Sometimes inverts have a preferred food that they stick to.

If the scorpion still has plenty of weight on it, it could be preparing for a molt. They tend to stop eating before and after molts. I would pull any live feeders back out of the tank for now, and try offering single crickets every few days. Inverts are very vulnerable while molting, and feeder bugs can kill your scorpion during the process.

I currently have six tarantulas. Mix of old world and new world. My favorites are still the various brachypelma species, but those have gone up in price quite a bit recently.

For a beginner, I'd recommend a pink toe. They are common, easy to care for, and probably the most "interactive" type if you want to handle them. Though personally I don't handle any of mine.

Burmese pythons get massive, but they do tend to be pretty chill snakes. Still, 20 of them free-roaming in a house is extremely irresponsible.

That's weird, because you confirmed that pitbulls do go off, whether it's 1% or less.

Substantially less. And every single animal in the world can "go off." banning a breed that millions of people have loved and had zero issues with over such an absurdly low chance of death is a massive over reaction.

A lot of people say that about pitbulls too, that you can train them to be good and they will never be bad again - but that simply isn't true. 99% of the time pitbulls are all right, but that 1% can happen where an unprovoked attack occurs. It can happen with even the most well-trained pitbulls. I'm not sure about German shepherds though

Edit: I know someone is going to say "1% is not that bad" but It can be deadly, even if it does only happen in 1% of the time. Pitbulls can literally kill people. If you think you can fight a pitbull, you are absolutely mistaken.

But its not even 1%. In 2018 twenty-five people were killed by pit bulls. At the same time, there were over four million pitbulls in the US. So that year .00000625% of pitbulls killed someone. Pretty far cry from even a full 1%.

Dear Becky is an epilogue type series that takes place years after the main story. The titles like "herogasm" and "superduper" are just a reference to the story arc in that book. The files should have the book number in the title, so use that for the order.

Still shows up for me.

I haven't read the project superpowers stuff, seems to be a separate series, but the boys books are the originals, not some crossover thing like humble suggests.

The comic is almost entirely different from the show, aside from some minor plot points and similar premise. The tv show is very "what if super heroes were real" and the comic is more "what if comic super heroes were awful" if that makes sense.

What the fuck? That's fucked up on so many levels and they still expect him to pay that fuckin' much for it? What the fuck is wrong with the people who make the prices for living there man?
Like I said, that's on the low end for the area. He just invested in a full suite of security cameras to completely surround his section of the building after a homeless guy was stabbed in front of his door by another homeless person. The cops told him that there isn't anything they can do about homeless people fighting, shitting, doing drugs, setting fires, dumpster diving and so on. If he wasn't dealing with any of this, the rent would be even more absurd.

I have a friend that has a small workshop in the middle of skid row. People have been recently murdered on his front door step, his building has been set on fire, and there are permanent rows of homeless people encampments surrounding the place. He pays $2000+ a month for the place. And that is considered pretty low.

FWIW, mice are actually tremendous assholes who are super violent and have a lot of in-fighting. Adults will sometimes just kill a bunch of babies in a litter cuz why not. Males create harems and fight constantly. Plus this isnt even counting the whole e.coli aspect either lol.

They're really shitty animals lol.
Absolutely. In the pet shop I worked at, every morning I would start the day by disposing of several mangled mouse corpses. Even with plenty of food, water, and space the mice would cannibalize each other constantly.

I had a P-series Vizio tv a couple years ago. I liked the set alot while it worked. After about 10 months it started to have visual glitches and black screens every hour or so. Vizio support told me to try a fix, and then if it starts acting up contact support again. After a month it went bad, and Support gave told me to try another fix and call back if it the problem returns. Of course it came back after another month or so. At that point Vizio said the board probably needs to be replaced, but I was out of luck because it was now out of warranty. So even though I had been in the records with a faulty set well before the warranty expired, they refused to do anything. I wont buy Vizio electronics again.

Depends on what the feeder is. The biggest ones can eat mice, and it's pretty nasty. Ive always fed mine roaches though. Alot easier to keep roaches available, and less mess to clean up afterwards.

Also, many smaller pet stores are able to provide pinkies and fuzzies by having a couple enclosures with mother rats and mice that they pull from for feeders. At the rate rodents breed there is almost always a fresh litter. You get a healthier feeder that way, which is better for the snake.

Once you've worked in a pet shop for a while, it's hard to see these mice as anything other than feeders. They exist to be eaten by snakes and lizards. After a couple months its pretty easy to just grab a mouse by the tail, break its neck, and feed it off.

I agree with the people saying to freeze it. At least it will have some use as frozen food later. Iys noy likely to survive long without the mother, and if it does and sits for almost any amount of time it won't be good for the snake.

Part of being a snake owner is knowing that the snake is going to need to eat other animals. Sometimes that means preparing the animals yourself. At one point I had built a gas chamber specifically to kill rats with co2, so my snakes could have warm food. It was cheaper and easier than buying frozen rats regularly.

Also if you keep the mouse around, you are more likely to get its scent on your hands, and end up being bit by a confused snake.
