Why didn't they just speed ahead and destroy the Resistance? Why play games and chase them slowly? And for like a literal in universe day, to just do that? Absolutely ruined the movie for me. Am I missing something? I've never heard anyone else complain about it, but it made absolutely no sense to me when I watched it, or when I've re-watched since. It's like when the villain lets the hero live to watch the downfall of society or the completion of the villainous plan, but it was all of the good guys, and there was no plan. They were just letting them live... because? Edit: and TC, you can't understand TLJ hate retrospectively- people don't hate it for new reasons, they hated it at launch. They didn't know that the big swings (that were both liked and disliked) would fail to materialize into literally anything in episode 9.
