This guy is a little strange: calling Hitlers retreat a bucket list place to visit
Notwithstanding it being the summer home of an absolute monster, the Eagle's Nest is a frequent place for tours. My law school had a program where over the summer they'd take a tour of a lot of places in Europe culminating in a trip to the Hague and a moot court/mock trial competition with other schools. The Eagle's Nest was one of the stops on the trip.

Now I wouldn't jump to put it on my bucket list of places to visit (the only places on my list are the camps, oddly enough), but it's not necessarily indicative of particular leanings. Granted, I know nothing about the guy other than this topic, so *shrug*.

We want to make clear that we, to the extent, are going to use political data in drawing this map, it is to gain partisan advantage on the map, the Republican legislator David Lewis said at the time. I want that criteria to be clearly stated and understood.
The morbidly hilarious part of this quote is that this was said with a particular purpose: to dissuade allegations that the lines were drawn on racial bases.

So yeah, admitting to be a piece of shit so that you can't legally be determined to be a piece of shit.

So, and this a pretty obvious observation to make, this isn't the case anymore, at least for some groups of people.

A frustration I have is that governance has long-since shifted from public service, but as a means to maintain control for the party. This has trickled down from the assholes doing the governing (a very generous description at times) to folks at large. You see this in the "conservative/liberal/feminist/etc. tears" gimmick.

So governance has become all about "winning." When it very clearly shouldn't be. And people who adhere to this sort of thinking, regardless of affiliation, are those who I would make an effort to cut from my life.

Because that mindset tells me you (the general you, not you specifically) have no actual ethos, no actual moral compass. And I find that absolutely repugnant.

I think it's the opposite. They now expect Trump to lose, so they're going to let the economy tank over the next few months. Then when Biden is sworn in and he starts pushing for a stimulus, they suddenly get really worried about the deficit again and start talking about how the Dems are wasting money.
Nevermind the jump in the deficit prior to Covid because of a shortsighted tax scheme.

I've been noticing the alt-right also doing this recently with slavery too, claiming that slaves would oftentimes receive better medical and dental care than free whites in the northern states.

I think the goal of proving "it wasn't that bad" is foolhardy at best. Proving it wasn't as bad as was claimed still doesn't mean the situation was ideal for the parties involved.

For example, while losing your hand isn't as bad as an arm, losing a hand still definitely is not good.

Even if the famous 6 million number was fake and it was even half of that claim, 3 million people dying still isn't good either.

I think it's just a thing the alt-right do to normalize something that they secretly look up/long for.
It's less about normalization/downplaying the atrocity and more about pushing the narrative that the ever (not-so) nebulous "they" are trying to hide the truth.

Don't listen to anyone saying Remnant sucks. It's great. And the boss fights do not suck either, they're one of the highlights of the game. The only real frustrating aspect of Remnant is that since the dungeons and encounters are randomly generated for each campaign you roll, you obviously can't get everything in one playthrough. There is an Adventure Mode separate from the campaign for each world that's intended as a means to encounter the things you missed, but it's still random. You could potentially take ages to roll the dungeon or event for an item or gun you really want.
This. The game also starts rather slowly, and gear is slowgoing in the acquisition department at the start. Game picks up when you start getting the non-starter/buff abilities.
