What is the current consensus on Nevada with respect to what remaining votes there are to be counted? i haven't found on anything on whether Biden or Trump is expected to win those, and there's this nagging worry in my head that Biden holds onto WI/MI/AZ but then still misses the presidency due to Nevada flipping.

I mean I fully expect to do Trump to do better with in-person votes than he does with early votes, but I wouldn't say it's obvious (to me, at least) that Trump would get >50% of the in-person vote.

I think Ohio's results are mostly early voting right now. At least Franklin County (Columbus) anyway based on this update on NYT:

Absentee and early vote results are rolling into Franklin County, the most populous in Ohio. As expected, Biden holds a wide lead over Trump. Well watch the in-person count.

That being said the current results in Franklin County have +180k for Biden whereas Hilary only won Franklin county by 150k votes. So unless Trump is expected to win the in-person vote this might still be good for Biden?

I don't view it as a spectrum. "Deliberate voter suppression" and "accidental voter suppression" are two different things that have different solutions and reflect differently on the people that implemented them. To me there's no reason to lump them together other than rabble rousing.

Since people were trying to use my story as a case of voter suppression earlier I will say that the process on election day was very easy and safe. Was in and out within 15 minutes. Obviously ideally the early in-person voting would have been better equipped to handle the pandemic but I really don't think claims of (intentional and malicious) voter suppression are justified in my case.

(Yes, nobody said "intentional and malicious" but that is obviously the implication.)

The reason people say Trump's election would represent the end of democracy is because Trump and the GOP in general have a history of undermining democratic institutions which we expect to continue.

I think it's less accurate to say that Trump's election would represent the end of democracy and more accurate to say that if Trump is elected in 2020 then as a direct consequence we may not have a real democracy by 2024.

The main games I remember this from is the Crossbell series. Basically there is something of a dispute between the division of the church that handles artifact retrieval (Gralsritter and related peoples) and the division which priests/bishops/etc are a part of that handles other things. I don't think much detail about the nature of the dispute has been given, and the one thing I know of that's been affected by this dispute is that the archbishop of Crossbell Cathedral has banned the Gralsritter from entering Crossbell since before the start of the series.

I finished Act 2 Part 1 last night. Act 1 was very good and easily high-tier Trails content. Act 2 I am less confident on for various reasons that have to do with the structure of the story and I won't really get into specifics here. Even if my gut reaction turns out to hold true for the rest of the act that isn't necessarily an indictment of the game--every Trails game has had notably weaker segments other than maybe Sky FC (which despite this is in the bottom half of Trails games). It does mean though that the pressure would be on Act 3 and the finale to make something of the story.

Of course I'm also not even halfway through act 2 so maybe it's about to blow up in my face and become something amazing--who knows. I will say that if nothing else, some lore dumps from early in Act 2 have retroactively made me more ok with aspects of Cold Steel 3's plot that I was not so big on before.

Some more thoughts on Act 1--Really loved seeing Juna pick up the scattered pieces following the events of the Gral and unite everyone behind the goals of saving Rean and stopping the war. I think the main strength here is really that there's a clear goal that all of the characters have and that everything the characters do makes sense within the context of that goal. It seems simple but really to me the Erebonia arc has been susceptible to what's felt like aimless wandering through locations where the plot just so happens to be occurring, but this segment didn't fall into that trap at all. Also some great emotional moments and there's some cool NPC interactions but yeah. (Act 1 Part 3 spoilers) Also one small moment that is just really chilling and burned into my head is when they are on the way to Crossbell and they see the Erebonian and Calvardian militaries just flying past each other. The shock and desperation that the characters feel here is absolutely palpable and I love it.

I don't really buy claims of voter supression in this case since my state has a relatively forgiving vote-by-mail system and early voting has been open for 3 weeks already. Also my experience has been that voting on election day itself is quite easy.

Went to try and early vote but I'm pretty sure the line was longer than I would have gotten just showing up at my polling place early on election day. At least in 2018 which is my only experience here there was literally no line. I'm sure it's worse in presidential election years but I'd be shocked if it changed from no line to anything close to what I saw today. Going today to the early voting place I probably would have been there for more than an hour waiting outside and there was no social distancing whatsoever.

(Worth mentioning the way it works here is that there's only one place in the county to do early voting and I live in a major city, whereas on election day there's a much larger number of polling places)

Edit: Since I didn't actually make it clear my decision was to not early vote and to take my chances on election day, though tbh if it's just as bad I would rather not vote than put my health at risk which I definitely feel I would have been today.

I am enjoying it a lot so far. I was a bit worried this would make a lot of the same mistakes as Cold Steel 2 but so far that at least doesn't seem to be the case. Granted, a lot of those didn't become apparent in Cold Steel 2 until Act 2 and in CS4 I'm still on Act 1 out of I believe 3, so I guess we'll see.

Side note: Juna was always great but she is very rapidly ascending to top tier Trails character status here.

FYI all your party members need to survive to get the max AP. I missed out on max AP because 1 or 2 of my party members died to the S-Craft and I didn't realize that mattered. (Fortunately I don't really care about max AP and already knew I missed some in a later fight anyway, but in case you care about that...)

Well I mean if you look at the fact that Trump can draw crowds and people will vote for him that obviously suggests he has charisma.

What I meant is like if it's just me listening to the man speak and that's all I'm considering, I don't see the charisma at all. I don't think it's just because I disagree with him on most issues either though who knows.

I am quite firmly of the belief that you don't need an understanding of music theory to understand music.

It's certainly a useful tool in a variety of contexts but a tool is all I really see it as.

Aw yeah Bose. Original was not one of my favorites but I really love the Evo version, which I'd somehow never heard before this topic.

Aw yeah Hermit's Garden. I don't know what the heck is going on in the Evo version but I think I still mostly like it. Not as much is the original but it manages to be very different without ruining it which is pretty neat.

I just met Dieter Crois and his daughter in Zero, and they're talking about the Crois family and their alchemy activating this tower two years ago, so I guess I should expect a heel turn at some point! Also, uh, it didn't seem like Elie had giant knockers in Trails From Zero to me, and yet...! I also kinda wondered if her name was pronounced "ee-lee" since there was only one L, but I guess not!

Oh nice, a reference to Weissman there by Black Alberich, or Alberich of the Black Demise as he's known now, apparently! Oh hey, there's a humongous spoiler for Crossbell, LOL. Mariabell Crois is the Third Anguis of Ouroboros and took Weissman's place, huh? I knew about KeA Bannings, the Zero Child, from Cold Steel III, but this is a new one! If they mentioned her in CS3 at all, it wouldn't have registered, I guess.

(spoilers for Ao no Kiseki and CS4 but you're fine to read if you've only gotten to where Leon is in CS4) To be fair, I'm pretty sure most of this is spoiled in past games also! Just in ways that only really stand out if you already know the characters. I think you can read about Dieter Crois in newspapers in Cold Steel 2 and I remember some detail on things other than KeA being given in CS3 also. Not sure if Mariabell's name is ever mentioned, but yeah.

Also in you want a bit more context on the thing in the second paragraph I quoted then click the following, but if you don't want any extra information on Ao then don't. (Ao no Kiseki spoilers) Bell is actually not in Ouroboros during the events of the Crossbell arc--there is scheming going but she's not a part of the organization. She's basically invited to join the society at the end of Azure.

Anyway uh I really liked the prologue. Renne was a bit underwhelming which was unfortunate because I was excited for her. It was great to play as Lloyd, Estelle, and Joshua again though. Also I have absolutely no idea why these 3 specific antagonists were gathered at the top of this tower just waiting for us but whatever it was a really cool boss fight.

I got started tonight also. Finished the prologue and got a bit farther so far.

Pretty good so far though it's obviously still hard to say at this stage. The soundtrack is already looking to be much more appealling at least to me than Cold Steel 3's was.

I have less spoilers for this game than I did for CS3 at least.

Same thing for Hajimari although I am upset about getting spoiled on a major thing by clicking on a reddit thread I thought was promo material. (Many spoilers I don't really care and am accepting some risk when wiki-browsing or whatever but this one was totally accidental and also a very big spoiler :(

You should generally ignore crappy data whether you like it or not.

I don't know enough to say whether or not that small of a sample size is enough off of the top of my head. However their last poll cites a margin of error of 5% with the same sample size, so assuming that number is accurate this still seems potentially significant. (Unless maybe the way things are reported means that 5% margin of error in a head-to-head poll leads to a ten point shift? I don't know how these numbers are typically reported.)

Absolutely trash song. (the evo version that is)

Heiyue Trading Company is a generally chilling theme song that serves the introduction to imo one of the most sinister characters in the entire series. Evo version takes the main line that contributes to this (around 0:40) and absolutely butchers it, turning it into a happy Chinese festival theme.

Divorced from the context they aren't too different, but honestly if I was rating this I'd probably have just given it a 0 and said "fuck it DQ my rating if you want".
