I want to get it for Steam. Does "Switch graphics" just mean the stuff like lower quality textures and less trees? Or does it affect the resolution and framerate and other stuff a PC release should be able to do well?

I'm not sure if it's ever mentioned outright, but Mime (and Freelancer) automatically gain all passive abilities and stat bonuses from every Job that character has Mastered. So once you're satisfied with everything you've learned they make a good final class to put a character in.

Animal Actors sucks these days. They can no longer use exotic animals or something so it's all just dogs and cats running through lame obstacle courses. No where near as fun as it used to be. The only highlight from the last time I went was when they grabbed a birthday boy from the audience to bend over so a dog could jump over him and he got peed on instead.

Yeah. I won't want to spoil and reveal things, but the Gogo battle is doable now and honestly it's amazing when you figure it out. Keep at it.

Lol yeah, the game just lets you waltz into the final dungeon whenever you please. Ideally you do the other quests and get stronger but it's open ended

So my goal at the moment was to switch weapons based on which ones would give me extra darkness to afford more upgrades and try out different styles. Unfortunately the game trolled me and for the last six runs only ever alternated between the shield and the spear. Since I still really didn't know how to use the spear well I ended up jumping back and forth to getting bad runs with spear and easy clears with increasing heat using the shield.

But with my last spear run I decided to spend some blood on the upgrade that lets you jump to your throw move and give you an attack boost afterwards. I didn't really want to spend blood on a weapon I didn't like, but I felt like the spear really needed something to boost it. This did help make the early levels a lot better, but it still wasn't coming together. Then something amazing happened. I somehow ran into a bunch of Zeus boons in a row and I got chain lightning on my attack, then a thing that added lightning to my lightning, then one that added lighting to my dash (which came around the same time I used a hammer to change my dash attack into a triple hit), then a Jolt added effect to my lightning, and finally I got my first Legendary boon; a thing that added extra lightning to all my other lightning. Hoo boy, did that clear rooms like crazy. And bosses just straight up melted, including Hades. I got my first spear clear handily, and finally the game decided to give the gun the dark bonus, so now I'm finally giving that another proper go.

Oh, I also found a ton of Charon wells and ended up with like five separate instances of attack boosting jerky (I don't know if they stacked or not, but it was nice to have), and multiple speed boosting items, along with the Hermes move speed buff. I was zipping around all over the place at speeds that would make Sonic the Hedgehog sick.

I pretty much never run away so short term I tend to choose the Brave Blade, but Chicken Knife is superior for a number of reasons, particularly if you go out of your way to grind it up.

God, that part of the game is amazing. Exdeath reviving himself from a splinter is one of the most ridiculous and awesome plot twists ever. Then you have the Dragon Ball Z turtle fight, and one of my favorite quotes ever:

Ghido: The twelve legendary weapons used to defeat the warlock Enuo a thousand years ago.
Bartz: The twelve legendary weapons?
Ghido: Sometimes I wonder if you say things like that to spite me... Yes, the twelve legendary weapons. They are weapons. They are legendary. There are even twelve of them.

And yeah, I love how the worlds stack on each other. That is such a neat thing. I even saved the maps to compare them:

Tried out Bow again after unlocking the ability to store the Cast into it and it substantially improved its usefulness. I never liked having to sit there and charge shots before, but with the Cast combined into it the extra damage really paid off and made it much more worth it. I ended up changing the Cast to Festive Fog and it basically one shot killed nearly everything I came across. And bosses would be absolutely shredded in seconds. A really powerful upgrade compared to its base imo.

There was one thing that I could never figure out. I ended up getting the skill that let me fire two charged arrows at once, and I was hoping it would cause two Festive Fog bursts on impact, but I couldn't actually tell if it worked or not. It was too hard to see anything in the explosive madness, and I wasn't able to compare the damage numbers. Does anyone know if it works like that?

So I hadn't played this in a while, things got busy, but I finally came back and beat it.

I didn't win on my last run I described. I had depleted Hades' first life bar, and was caught off guard by him having a second one. It already looked like he had multiple phases so I really didn't expect him to have more on top of that. I probably shouldn't have stopped to look at my text messages... I won on my next run though. I ended up getting this thing from Artemis that automatically fires arrows whenever any of your attacks hit which synergized extremely well with the Blade Disc since every single hit of that triggered it. I found so many Pom fruits I was able to get it up to Level 7 and just clear house.

I guess there's still more to go, so I'll go and keep doing stuff.

Oh absolutely. If FFV had been released back then I think Galuf's death would have gotten a lot more attention, and that other death wouldn't have felt as impactful

Galuf is a top tier FF character. His last stand is one of my favorite moments in the entire series. Such a badass way to go out.

This game homages a lot of stuff from FF3. Kind of like thematic sequel to that game.

And Ghido's dialogue in this game is one of the many reasons the GBA translation is incredible.

FFV is the first game in the series I'd consider to have an excellent soundtrack. There are plenty of great songs in the previous games, but V is where things really start to sound like a "score" with so many pieces of amazing music.

As for Stealing, I honestly don't care for it. Stealing things in this game can turn downright nightmarish. A lot of the stuff you can steal isn't in any way worth the effort... except for the random super useful items you'll never think to steal unless you try every time or have a guide. And then the rate of successfully getting that item can be ridiculously low, and there can be two possible stealable items and if you grab the wrong one then you lose the chance to get the other one... I never really bother with Stealing in this because it annoys me too much.

Okay, I've never noticed before that the song "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo" has that weird little stagger right before the first, and ONLY the first time the "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo" part happens but it RUINED me every time. Like I felt so... off every time I missed it.

Another note, the thief running speed is hilariously fast. Feels like I'm glitching the game.

It's going to be a bit unnatural because there was no run button in the original game. The only way to move faster was with the Thief skill. So running with that skill makes you go double fast.

I heard the Kingdom Hearts version of "This Is Halloween" at the Disney Store. Probably not that unusual, but I still found it weird. I figured they would play the original over anything else.
