With a smaller natural boost, I could see Sonic winning the '06 male bracket then getting upset out of nowhere in 2007 instead of 2008. Imagine Sonic finishing dead last in the L-Block/Snake/Squall match because there's no mid-contest announcement to save him, only it's even more embarrassing because Sonic would have been the easy first-place pick pre-contest. --- Congrats to 2020 GotD Guru champ azuarc! |

In particular, which if any rally entries still win their respective tournaments? Were they all inevitable, did L-Block open the door for everything else, etc. Without the switch to 4-ways (and the expansion to 128 entrants), L-Block doesn't even make the field in 2007. On the other hand, Draven and Undertale would still get in and probably get rallied. This was the first election since...forever (I forget the exact time) where Texas wasn't the state with the largest Republican vote differential (in terms of number of votes not percentage). That was Tennessee. So it is definitely getting closer but I just don't have faith it'll get close enough any time soon. Yeah, even this year Texas was still about 10 points more Republican than the country as a whole. About centrists in this topic: I tend to think of "centrist" as meaning "both sides are equally wrong and the right answer is always a compromise between the parties". The (not right-wing) people here who call themselves "centrist" are actually moderates (that is, they reject radical views on both sides but don't insist that both sides are equal).
