I do wish this game had dailies/weeklies that occasionally awarded crowns, so that even if you do have trouble winning there was another way to earn crowns outside of the battle pass.

Haha, nah, I probably should have been further back. I generally try and stick to the middle of a side when balancing, to avoid getting bumped off the end, but I kept sliding back down to the middle while I was complaining.

Glad it's not just me! As well as the platforms being less sticky, they also feel like they disappear a little faster too, but at the same rate you jump, so it just overall feels much smoother to play.

This might just be on PS4, but is Hexagone suddenly more responsive? I used to have to double tap jump just to register the input and now I'm much bouncier and only need to tap once.

I wish I had done it earlier, even though the double fame at the end was nice, so I could take a break, but I know the best chance of getting crowns is playing the season early when people dont know the maps, so Ill probably be on it again tomorrow.

Outer Wilds (a 2019 indie game that was very critically acclaimed)

I think the core gameplay mechanic isn't a spoiler, but ditto either way.

Also, I remember liking Shadow of Memories's time travel stuff at the time, but I have no idea if it holds up.

I got the elite trainer box and the first three gym boxes. Got the other two gym boxes (with the Sword/Shield exclusive gym leaders) coming Friday and I'll probably pick up the other three gym boxes when they release.

I don't remember much about Vendetta, but I do remember tweeting about it whilst I watched it, so I looked up my thoughts at the time:

Watching Resident Evil Vendetta. A car just flipped and exploded running over a dog, whilst Leon rode his motorbike with his feet.

Amazing

I love that BSAA weapons have bayonets and I'm surprised the games haven't done that before.

Leon just did a flying axe kick on a tyrant, because of course he did.

They shot the tyrant with a railgun that destroyed four skyscrapers, but not the tyrant. Heroes, the lot of them.

Glad they brought Rebecca back after 15 years so she could get kidnapped and be immobilised for most of the film.

So, doesn't sound like I enjoyed the ending much, but I enjoyed the dumbness.

Alright, at 73% completed on the visual novel part and completed one out of the thirteen characters. Need to do some RTS stuff tomorrow to unlock more progress on the other characters.

I'm pretty sure I've figured out the big reveal. I've managed to figure out a few twists before they happened, but mostly because the game is good at foreshadowing stuff, plus I got lucky with the order I played some characters in. That said, there's still a bunch of stuff I'm unclear on. I swear, when I finish this game I'm gonna need to go through every event on the full-length timeline just to get my head around the order of events.

Well, I got mine in from a online retailer. Not super happy with the bundle I got, but I didn't realise Yakuza: Like a Dragon was only coming out digitally on 10 November, with the physical version coming on 13 November, which explains the lack of bundles there.

Also, the price of the stuff I got separately was 7.45 cheaper than the bundle, so that's... great.

Oh, it's totally worth it. Argh, the story is nuts and so goddamn dense. I just got some big revelations and I wanna keep playing until I know all the mysteries, but I need to sleep. And I'm surprised that I like all 13 MCs as equally as I do. Ogata's obviously best boy, but the rest aren't far behind.

Protip for anyone who picks it up, invest all your chips into unlocking the terminal upgrades early, so you can max out the score multipliers and chip multipliers. There are a LOT of Mystery Files and you only unlock Mystery Points with your score in the RTS mode, so it's the best way to get files early and avoid having to grind for points later. And the game's easy enough that you don't have to worry about levelling your characters too much, at least until after the first boss, and once you've got the chip multiplier, you'll be rolling in chips to upgrade everything anyhow.

I could see them still releasing the bigger titles multiplat (they still put Minecraft on other consoles, after all), but it does mean day one Gamepass, so woo! Especially with games becoming more expensive next gen.

Played for about three and a half hours, which was just enough to get through the the tutorial plus one more story for one character. Game's super, super tropey. Like, they just go through every anime cliche and tick them off one by one. Not a complaint, I'm loving it!

Also, they've done a really good job of making it impossible to know what's going on. Chapters are in random orders that constantly jump back and forth in time. There's a useful timeline that unlocks as you go to keep track of things for each character, but in the moment, it's so hard to follow. Again, not a complaint.

Also, the mech stuff isn't as bad as I thought it'd be, but eh, I'd still rather just have pretty cutscenes or something.

The combat in this game was so good. I kinda lost interest in the story and just ran and did all the strongholds as soon as it let me. It's a weird dissonance though, in that the game tells you that the samurai way won't work on these enemies, but rocking up to a stronghold of 30 Monguls and loudly announcing yourself and fighting through them all was way more fun than sneaking about.

Although, I guess I did use Kunai and bombs and stuff, so maybe not.

Anyway, looking forward to going back when the multiplayer mode comes out!

I could see the campaign being quite low on playable characters. Just Link, the Champions, Impa and then Zelda at the end.

Then the rest of the game will be non-canon adventure modes or maybe canon side stories featuring BotW characters.

Okay, so, after reading all the posititve stuff about the campaign, I buckled and re-preordered. But I got an edition that came with the extra three days and did a video.

And yeah, Square Enix definitely fucked up the marketing for this. I'm still not entirely sold on the online stuff and I dunno how much of that I'm gonna do, but the campaign is solid at least and I put the difficulty up and I'm feeling the combat a lot better now. Not quite Marvel's Ms Marvel, but she is definitely the driving force of the plot and easily my favourite character so far, although all of them are really good.
