Rattatas got the memes, the greater usefulness, and the design over Pidgey. A 2 tier gap seems maybe a little weird but I guess theres not much doubt which is stronger.

looking up Pikmins results...ouch.

Alex has been sporadic hype and menacingly plotting with no real delivery for his entire existence. Even if he got a 4th game in which he makes his big move, its too late for people to care, especially after Dark Dawn disappointed people.

Cars was the consensus worst Pixar movie, until they made more Cars that usurped that position. I think they keep making more because the toys sold well? Not gonna help here at any rate. Would sooner go LAW than mid fodder.

Monster Hunter is popular and people like cats so I doubt Felyne is LAW but if it's from Monster Hunter and not literally named Monster Hunter, I doubt it's above low.

I'm not a music guy and don't have any real experience with Prince myself, but anecdotally I just don't really remember anyone in my peer groups (was born in 1989) ever really caring about or mentioning Prince much. Did his career and general prominence decline quickly around the 90s or so? And he's been dead long enough now that I don't see that giving him much of a bump either.

He's a cool martial arts master rat and he's reasonably prominent in pretty much every incarnation of the franchise. Doesn't get much of a role in most of the games though. Think he'd be weaker than Shredder but stronger than April.

Outside of communities specifically open to old anime, the masses in the English-speaking world simply aren't going to know who this is. The mother's skull thing was noted as kind of freaky but that's about it; I don't think Cubone in general is cared about too much. RBY plus something positive is still probably enough for mid, though.

It's an RBY Pokemon that's not unduly rare/late or annoying so it shouldn't be too bad. The Officer Jennies often had them in the anime. Their evolution Arcanine is pretty well liked. Also it's a dog.

Zitz (Battletoads) - Low fodder

nobody cares about the toads as individual characters and Battletoads is more a meme than a widely beloved game or franchise.

Mike Ehrmantraut (Breaking Bad) - Low fodder

Mike is cool and all but my confidence in this franchise goes way down after Walt and Jesse. Still haven't seen Better Call Saul, not sure how much it matters.

Radiant Dawn has a weird difficulty curve that can be particularly unfriendly on your first time when you don't really know what's coming who's necessarily going to turn out good and there are all of these switches to different parties. There are also some plot problems and while support conversations as they'd been implemented up to that point probably weren't ideal, what RD did with them was bad. So not surprising if people like PoR better. Probably wouldn't be hard to argue the core gameplay is better than PoR, though.

Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jurassic Park) - Low fodder

Perilously close to LAW. Jurassic Park has some amusing characters with good lines but they are really not the main draw and it's been a pretty damn long time since the first couple movies. Most are going to have seen Jurassic Park, yeah, but I question how many are going to remember or care who "Ian Malcolm" is, exactly.

He's got some appearances in spinoffs outside FFI, notably Dissidia, but unlike Garland he's not playable there, he doesn't have Garland's dumb meme line in the original, and I just don't think anyone cares at all. I'm not even sure people care about Garland this long after Dissidia was relevant, actually.

Palmer (Final Fantasy VII) - Low fodder

Palmer Fun Entry.
Do not do this at home, kids.

Most characters like Palmer would probably be LAW, but Palmer is in FFVII and even in the remake which (although Palmer's still definitely not a looker) should give him acceptable match pics, too.

agreed on Kano and Dark Queen. The latter might be close to LAW without TJF, nobody cares about Battletoads story and nobody ever actually gets far enough into the old games to fight her anyways.

Chain Chomp could potentially surprise us. Its general minor presence in the Mario franchise probably shouldnt be enough for mid on its own but it guarding a star in Super Mario 64 pretty close to the starting point of the first level could give it some pretty good nostalgic appeal. Im going mid fodder but low is still reasonable.
