I enjoyed MD, even though I never played the other one (Human Revolution?). Mostly did a stealth playthrough like you. Game felt rather short, though, and I didn't love the extreme amount of backtracking in Prague either.

Finally got everything else, including a Misaki construction drop instead of a map drop. Guess it's back to grinding for Jenkins, then Honolulu in 10-2.

Just make trades expire after a week or two, and put a reasonable limit, and it might be fine. A same-rarity-only trade would be kinda crappy.

Spent about four hours grinding for Misaki, and even took 5000 oil out of the event shop, but still nothing. If I don't get the ship from construction tomorrow, gonna have to waste 8000 smackers. I wanted eight rainbow blueprints instead, though. =(

I've spent over 200 cubes before trying to get Essex, Yat Sen, etc., so don't be too disheartened if you don't get the ship. Although...crossover reruns may never happen again, so maybe being disheartened is the right call. :P

I think the Akashi quest takes a month or so to do. Pretty sure you need to progress the campaign to chapter six or seven, too, so that's an additional annoyance for new players.

Carriers are good, but they don't have interception fire, so they get their asses kicked by anything that rams into them (usually torpedo boats). I'd suggest getting any decent battleship -- Bismarck, Warspite, or even Hood -- if possible to round out a backline.

I said this in another topic, but make sure you three-star 3-4 on hard mode and get it down to 'safe' levels. At that point, you can just fight the boss and skip all the other pointless fights. Pretty sure CH3 submarine battles have a chance to drop Akagi/Kaga, too.

Outfits cost the same as 40-50 extra dock spaces, so don't regret your purchases later. There are hundreds of ships to collect, after all.

No, I didn't put them in any order. Flagships get XP bonus, so maybe use that as a determinant if you don't have other reasons (like a battleship's bombardment going down the center, like you would for Nagato).

Takao ain't too shabby, especially when that free torpedo salvo proc triggers. Definitely was one of the ships I used to clear the first seven or eight chapters, along with Akagi/Kaga, Eugen (for awhile), Enterprise, etc. If you're trying to build a Sakura fleet, Takao's not a bad choice.

I don't remember any innate bonuses; it's mostly skill-related. Most faction buffs apply to one's own faction, although weirdos like Prince of Wales get buffs from an ally (EU) faction instead.

Oh, and I hope you're paying attention to the exchange shop (under 'Build' icon) to redeem 5* ships you don't have. This is a good way to get sought-after ships like Enterprise, Warspite and San Diego, the latter two of which have great 6* retrofits (albeit event-locked ones).

Helena's one of the most useful ships in the game, owning a skill that makes all on-screen enemies (at time of proc, IIRC) take 40% extra damage or so. Great for bosskiller fleets and also retrofit-approved. London has a retrofit, too, and can be kinda hardy after awhile. Since you're so early in the game, you can make hodgepodge fleets that don't care about factions and buffs.

Helena/Laffey/London

FLEET 2
Essex/Illustrious/whoever
Eugen/whoever/whoever

The DOA event ships might be okay to raise, but they don't belong to any faction, so they may not be that useful in the long run. If you really like 'em, just use 'em, I guess.

Oh hey I just got a Unicorn. Is she sort of a support aircraft carrier since she heals? I really want a healer since Akashi is gonna take a while :<

Unicorn is one of the few backline healers and makes a good choice to keep frontliners healthy. Throw the 'Corn in any fleet and it'll usually work out, although it does have Royal Navy synergies.

You can switch what PR ship you're going for, but you can only do it once a day. Progress (gained XP, unlocked missions) doesn't reset or anything, but you can only go after one PR ship at a time, so most people probably just keep it on their target while they're doing XP/blueprint grinds. And for reference, Eagle Union and Royal Navy ships are some of the most ship-heavy factions, so they're often the first targets to go after.

In addition to XP, Priority ships also need a ton of gold, some cubes, and a certain amount of gold blueprints (for their ship type) to use. You can get the blueprints by farming Hard stages past chapter three (IIRC). Not sure how far you are in the game.

Probably. Just use Ratslayer or something. Personally, I like to steal La Longue Carabine from Corporal Sterling, but there are lots of options.
