I chose the betting one but honestly these are the only 2 inventions in this poll worth voting on.

EDIT: The going back in history one to grab an item I assume would mostly be used to just sell for money anyhow, which you could just use the betting invention for.

Yeah man, it's funny but when I was a kid I'd stick with a game and try to finish it almost every time. Now though I think there are just way too many options- if something doesn't grab me right away now I'll just hop onto something else. It kind of sucks, actually. There are maybe only a handful of games that I'll even go back to on a regular basis now but they're few and far between.

EDIT:

You know what now that I think of it I think I'm always looking for the next 'big thing'. For example there are some games that I'd rank very highly all-time that have captured my attention for very long amounts of time: Diablo 2, the Borderlands games, Disgea, Dragon Warrior/Quest 3, hell even friggin' Bejeweled!

I think whenever I see something that might be that next big thing I buy it, and usually it doesn't end up cutting the mustard. Animal Crossing New Leaf came pretty close. Hades- for all its awesomeness- I've already put it down for a while now. BotW I bought with my Switch Lite and haven't played more than 10 friggin' minutes of it! Ugh.

EDIT #2:

Yeah and also I have a very active 3 year old at the house so he doesn't let me play PS4 like ever haha. That'd sure help things!

You're right, but I wasn't even thinking about the storyline with Roland.

I just love the new enemy types, all the dragons, the D20 chests, etc. The locations are awesome too. Plus we get some hilarious Mr. Torgue stuff.

I played Axton almost the entire time I've owned BL2. Too bad he didn't get BL3's ARs though, they have been improved so damn much!

I'm probably going to go through once and probably play some of the DLCs. I'll definitely run through Assault on Dragon Keep since I did play through it with friends and enjoyed it.

Dragon Keep is the best part of the entire game, hands down.

Thank you! I try to improve with each game if possible. It's just me doing this stuff so admittedly the execution isn't always the best and they take forever to finish but my heart isn't in the right place!

Oh thanks! I've been working on my 2nd roguelike since May, off and on. It's been tough but I don't want to release crap so it may take a while.

As far as Switch, I'd love to have my stuff on there however I use Clickteam Fusion 2.5 which doesn't naturally export to the console so I'd have to pay big bucks with a 3rd party service (ex. Chowdren) as well as get a dev kit from Nintendo themselves.

But to the topic, I don't know what it is but I can seriously watch WWII documentaries forever and never get bored. I was just watching WWI in color on Netflix again last night and it hit me that I'd love to play an AW game like this. You'd think someone would've made a mod / hack for one of these game by now!

Just killed my first Owlbear :O

Trivia time: The first enemy I killed when I played tabletop D&D back in the day was also an Owlbear. I had a two handed sword and rolled high enough that the DM said I had cleaved it in half with the hit. Was awesome!

About BG3 though everything I read about it tells me it's a DOS game, reskinned for the $$ since tons of people grew up with the first 2 and loved them to death (like me). I'm on the fence. Not at $60 at least, maybe sometime later.

At least I'll have PoE to play in the meantime.

Oi this is tough because 98% of any RPG I play either has the silent protagonist with almost no personality or it'll have a team of a bunch of premade characters with zero personality at all.

It's not an RPG but I guess I'll say the main dude from Hades is pretty awesome (been playing this a lot lately, the writing and VA work is incredible).

Also if you set out purposely to make money don't be upset if you don't. There's way too much competition and you have to also be really lucky / have a great publisher / get picked by ultra youtubers and etc.

$300 plus BC taxes, so almost $350. Had it ordered in and the guys at the store said its the nicest case theyve seen. Its got two pieces you can flip for 6, or 7/8 string guitar necks, and the other is for a small or large body. I stored some strings below the switchable neck piece. Pretty sure when they did the body, they coated the entire thing minus the fretboard in clear as well.

Wow, I'm certianly no expert however I've been playing bass and etc since 1991 and this is the best case I've ever seen as well. You always want to go hardshell if possible but this thing is like the Rolls Royce of cases.

I am, sort of. Bass player since 1991 as mentioned, drummer off and on since 1993ish, guitarist here and there since 1998, and most recently keyboardist with a semi-serious intent since this year (good ol' COVID has me practicing a lot). As a drummer I still really need to work on perfecting my timing over my chops so I've been trying to play along to a metronome when possible now which has been challenging for me.

I've actually got Disgaea 2 sitting in my Steam library waiting for attention, but the time-sensitive nature of this one is going to prompt me to play it first. I very much have my doubts that I'll get through it all in a week, given how Disgaea 1 went (How Long to Beat is saying ~55 hours for the main story, 300+ for completionist, which sounds about right), but we'll see how it goes.

If nothing else, I really like the idea of having rentals like this paired with discounts, so I'm all for telling Nintendo that by taking advantage of it.

I have Disgea 2 for the PS2 but haven't played it in years. I think you can also get Adell and co. as playable units in D5 but I'd need to check. My takeaways from that one were that the characters were less interesting but the gameplay is much improved over D1. Even tweaking it so that guns could only fire in a straight line was a huge improvement, as it made bows viable again for example.

I think the main thing with these games is that they don't take very long to beat for the main story but all the extra stuff requires you to be leveled up to some obscene amount. Priere (sp?) from the first game was level 2000 IIRC. At this point in D5 I'm more than capable of blowing through the main missions but there's just a certain something that keeps me saying "Oh, I can just level up this guy's shield a little bit more first" and I haven't been doing it.

I already own this (physical copy) but if you're even remotely interested in the series or sRPGs in general you should for sure pick this game up. The complete version is even better as you can grab all the extra characters and etc from the DLC guy right in the main hub right away. I have Laharl, Etna, and Flonne from the first game on my main team for example.

I've been on a mega detour from the main storyline for the past ~110 hours or so in the Item World. Technically I'm still on Chapter 3 but most of my guys are level 400-something.

Truth be told I do love Windwaker and LttP, but not nearly as much. It really helps to have been a kid back then too- I was coming off Atari and LoZ was just completely amazing in every way.

I always and I mean always hold the power button in until the power options screen comes up, and then shut the Lite down. The battery doesn't have the best lifespan as it is and I don't want to screw it up haha.
