So I'm skeptical it will be a huge improvement, though I'd have to see a practical example. Just for fun, I did the math once on how the 2016 election would have gone with proportional EC votes and an expanded House using the Wyoming Rule. And since I was trying to fix everything stupid about the system, I also removed the Senate contribution to each state's total EC votes. Spoilers: The Democrats still would not have won the Electoral College vote. They would have a plurality, but third parties take enough of the EC votes that nobody would have a majority and the House would decide the election (presumably in Trump's favor). I, for one, look forward to our future where there are 289 "states" in the Union as existing states split into smaller areas to politically add new Senators for whomever is in power at the moment. If it's done correctly, the party who starts making new states first wins forever because they can simply add enough states the first time that their opponents will never have enough votes to retaliate. That said, it'd be fairly tricky for the Democrats to do that. DC and Puerto Rico are the only plausible statehood candidates that aren't already states. Breaking up current states into smaller states could work, but there aren't many states that can be broken up to give Democrats a net gain (especially since you'd be limited to states where the Dems already control the state government). --- Congrats to 2020 GotD Guru champ azuarc! |

Fun fact: The Senate can't abolished (or lose the "all states have equal votes" rule) without the consent of every state. It's in the Constitution. If you really want to fix the Senate, a more realistic way would be to make DC and Puerto Rico states, split California into 6 new states, and split New York City into 4 new states. | Xeybozn 09/13/20 9:48:56 PM #8 | I'm gonna assume this is the normal version of Missingno from Red/Blue in the match; the fossil/ghost sprite variants don't have properties stable enough for meaningful arguments, while normal Yellow Missingno generally just crashes the game (which I wouldn't count as a win). Notably, this form doesn't have any glitch effects that will hinder Gambit, so if Missingno wins it'll be due to its strength as a Pokemon. So how strong is Missingno as a Pokemon, ignoring glitches? As it has no Pokedex entry, there are no canon feats to use as solid examples of its power. Let's look at its stats instead. Missingno's Attack stat is higher than any legitimate Gen 1 Pokemon, so we can interpret this as fairly good physical offensive potential. Unfortunately, it's other stats are all terrible. Its Speed stat is lower than Slowbro's, while it's defensive stats suggest that it's worse at taking hits than any non-glitch Pokemon. I have to conclude that Gambit wins this fairly easily as long as he doesn't completely lose his mind at seeing some pixels floating around. --- Congrats to 2020 GotD Guru champ azuarc! |

These were nicknamed "dick-sticks" due to their shape, and then later shortened to "D-sticks".
