@Zanzenburger what kind of transplant? is there visible scarring?
Not sure if there's a name for it. Just took some hair from the back of my head and put it in the front.

No scarring after it healed. Just some scabs that fell off after about 2 weeks. It is still a bit sensitive about a month later but they said that will go away over time.

Finasteride is definitely not perfect, but it's currently the best way to learn fight hair loss. Like all drugs, it affects people differently. Some people do keep their hair very long term on finasteride. I'm not sure how long ago it was when you were taking it, but I pay $12 a month to refill my prescription. To me, that's nothing.
Where do you pay $12 a month for it? Walgreens was wanting to charge me $85 for a 30 day supply.

I ate there a few times when I lived in Stillwater. Their food sucks, honestly. People only go there because it's considered an attraction and they have huge branding power with their merchandise. You get a free, color-changing cup with every meal order. Your average Oklahoman has like 10 of these cups stacked in their cupboard.

As the other poster stated, they also have Mexico Joes and also there used to be a Joeseppi's, which was an Italian restaurant following a similar theme, but that one closed down years ago.

Joeseppi's actually tasted decent, but the other two are just your generic bar restaurant food with too much grease and overpriced meals.

Nice man. if you don't mind me asking, when did you first notice that you were losing your hair? Did it take a mental tool on you?

For me, I was 25 when I first noticed it. But the first time, I was like "oh shit, that's weird" and just brushed it off. Didn't think much of it. A few weeks later I started to come the terms with what was actually going on.
Sometime between age 25-27. I always had a high hairline naturally, so I wasn't sure if it was just me judging myself harshly.

By age 28 I could definitely tell my hairline was receding. It really hit me mentally around age 30 as I knew I was still too young to be losing as much hair as I was. I'm 32 now and got the treatment earlier this month. The doctor said my case was actually very mild compared to the people that normally showed up at his office. He says that was good for me as it saved me thousands on my procedure. Most men who show up have lost the whole top of hair. I just had the receding hairline along the sides.

Not so much a regret but realizing I'd make a good lawyer 3 degrees later so it's too late to go to law school. Just found I have an affinity for interpreting law and wonder what it would have been like if I went that route professionally.

Good job man, must have been a tough decision for you to make. Were people in your life against it? Also just curious, where did you get your transplant? I hear people on Reddit talking about Turkey and South Korea being common places to get hair transplants.

According to the research I've done, any hair that that is transplanted will stay and will never recede. but a lot of hair transplant doctors will prescribe you finasteride in order for you to keep the remaining hair, as that is still susceptible to miniaturization.
I did it at a reputable clinic in Florida. No one had issues with it. My wife actually looked forward to seeing me with a full head of hair again. We had the money for it so why not? My parents were like "oh cool". Had no real opinion either way.

Yeah, I got that same prescription from the doc. Waiting to take it as I know it will be a lifelong commitment once I do.

A life of college debt and stress vs retiring at 30 by posting some risque pictures online? No brainer

This is our future, see you there
Plenty of women out there who are not comfortable showing off their body for others to look at, even with the financial incentives. They are happy enough doing something they enjoy, even if it pays less.

I have a friend who is a missionary. She is extremely attractive but super conservative about her body. Like, she wears shorts and a shirt at the pool/beach kind of conservative, even though she has the kind of figure that could rock a bikini. Her passion is travelling and building hospitals and homes both within and outside the US. She makes just enough to get by plus the housing provided during her trips. I could never imagine her caring enough about money to ever turning to something like OF, etc.

I've learned after many interviews to trust my gut. 4 out of 5 times if I think I connected with the interviewer and did a great job, then I did, and vice versa.

I had an interview once where I had a committee of 6 people asking me questions. Generally, I am pretty relaxed in interviews and make a joke or two. This committee was dead serious the whole time. Not even a chuckle from anything I said. Sure enough I got the rejection within 12 hours.

Fast forward a bit and I have another committee interview with 5 people. They are laughing at pretty much any joke I make and seem truly interested in getting to know me more. I got the job with a higher offer than the posted salary range.

My takeaway from this is that "fit" matters. I was the same person at both interviews and was equally qualified to do both jobs, but I clicked with one group and not the other. In addition to making sure you can do the job, an employer wants to know if you will fit in with their culture and personalities.

Unfortunately that is not something you can control and just hope you get interviewed by people you jive with.

Cool man.

Since I have been working home this summer, I took the opportunity to get a hair transplant. The new hair is coming in and looking pretty good. They guaranteed that the new transplant hair will live through the rest of my life.

Now I need to decide in a treatment to keep the rest of my hair from falling late on.

I loved it. My wife and I went into it blind during a date night one night. We bought take-home dinner and got some snacks and looked for a funny rom-com to watch. That looked fun, and we had absolutely no idea about the time loop sci-fi part so that definitely through us for a loop!

We loved it, though. Great amounts of rom-com, slapstick, sci-fi, dark humor, and drama. Great performances all around and I was satisfied with the ending. Normally I hate Andy Samberg's humor, but he shines in this and Brooklyn 99.

Seventh Day Adventism vs. eating a bucket of nails
Fun fact: Seventh day Adventists live longer than any other religion (and lack of religion), having less premature deaths and cancer, due to their emphasis on living healthy lifestyles such as no smoking and good eating habits.

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/seventh-day-adventists-life-expectancy_n_5638098

It's the Seventh-day Adventists, who live an average of 10 years longer than the American life expectancy of about 79 years.

https://www.pcrm.org/news/health-nutrition/seventh-day-adventists-have-lower-risk-cancer-and-death

The authors attribute lower cancer risk, increased quality of life in later years, and benefits to other health outcomes in the AHS-2 group to lifestyle habits, including nonsmoking, exercise, and reduced consumption of meat and suggest these results may transfer to the general U.S. population by adopting similar habits.

Only gacha game I ever spent money on was Plants vs. Zombies 2. By that point I had already spent over 50 hours playing through the story mode and survival mode and spent $4.99 on some premium plants and other goodies to keep the game fresh, which got me another 10-20 hours of playtime. At that point, I felt $5 was a steal for the amount of total playtime.

Sounds like you need to hold back on the impulse buys and take a second to consider if the purchase is worth it (talking about your unplayed steam games).

I at least enjoyed Gambit's role in the movie. He didn't do much, but at least his character wasn't butchered like Deadpool and he was one of the only mutants in the movie who wasn't captured or killed at the end.

I don't care how desperate you are, don't take a payday loan. You'll be worse off after.
It's hard to comprehend the level of desperation it takes to make these unwise choices until you've been there yourself.

Many times these are parents desperate to feed their kids or someone down out of their luck trying to avoid eviction. And usually they only have a few days tops to come up with the money, in the midst of working two full time jobs and managing a household. There just isn't time to research sound financial principles and usually no one taught them otherwise.

which churchs keep a membership list ? never heard of something like this
Most organized churches have memberships. From Baptists, to Seventh-Day Adventists, to a growing number of non-denominational, they all keep a membership list and you are usually expected to "transfer" from one church to another when you move.

Though this usually only applies to people that go consistently, i.e. every Saturday or Sunday. Those who only go to church occasionally like Christmas and Easter are considered guests and are not counted as actual church members.

Which brings up an interesting point about this survey. Is the declining church membership suggesting that less people are religious, or that less people attend church regularly and are just considered guests?

Lastly, one more thing to consider is that millenials move a lot more and "church-hopping" has become more common. That is, a millenial may go to one church for a few weeks, then switch to another one and so on. In that case, they never become a member of one church (in that they do not get placed in their directory), but they are still going to churches consistently. I used to lead a youth group and it was common to have some of the teens and young adults to leave the church for a year to attend another one and then come back a year later, or for a someone to bring their friend from another church for a few weeks.

I've always felt religion (and spirituality in general) tends to be a more personal thing. If your only reason for being religious is because you were raised that way, it won't last the moment you are hit with doubt or a conflicting viewpoint.

The most consistently-religious people are those who chose it due to life circumstances, either because they have lived a tough life and are looking for a light, or have experienced some major moments of positive experiences that strengthens their faith. Personally, I fall into the latter of the two, but I can understand why people aren't religious/spiritual. I've gone through periods of doubt myself, but it's led me my own version of faith and spirituality, not the ones my parents raised me with.

Do you think complaining is part of teacher culture?

My wife is a teacher and yes, the job is hard. My job is also hard, I have to literally climb mountains and see dead people bleeding into the 6ft deep snow with heavy weights.

But I don't get to say "I have the hardest job in the world you don't understand!" And every teacher I've ever known thinks that about their job, including my wife. But they also CONSTANTLY complain about how hard it is and is going to be.
I think teachers complain more because teaching is often seen as an "easy" job in popular culture what with the "shorter" work days and "summers off". I imagine that's their way of venting that it's not as easy as people constantly say it is. Whereas other traditional tough jobs don't come into question as to how tough they are so there's no need to defend their toughness.

What do you do, btw? That sounds interesting.
