My questions for you are as follows;
1) How do you determine when an ideology is a threat and needs to be censored?
2) Who makes the determination?
3) What protections are in place to prevent it from being used to abuse political opponents?

If you can't answer all three questions without also being able to apply it to an ideology you agree with, it's a bad idea to start saying we should restrict free speech as long as the people engaged in it aren't committing other crimes.

Because the next quoted line could be used to censor a lot of things... Like communism, the black panther party, and even the very logic used to implement this restriction of free speech when the government was given the power to do so. You need to flesh out an argument for restriction of free speech that adequately answers the above three questions.

I do not see those questions as necessary at all. to my knowledge, no ideology other than fascism has genocide as one of its core values. certainly no ideology that's politically relevant does.

Don't vote just for the titles, or judge a story based on its headlines. What ever happened to the classic adage, "don't judge a book by its cover?" It doesn't just apply to good books with bad covers. It applies to bad ones with good covers, too.

A smart grid that allows people to power their own homes with solar panels and sell surplus energy back into the grid, over nuclear plants managed by the state. That's not how it works. If anything, providing food/shelter/services instead of straight cash makes everything more inefficient and expensive because of middlemen/bureaucracy. Straight cash does work.

you have this backwards.

the biggest points of inefficiency in the system are people who own necessary services and don't work -- people like landlords and owners of major grocery stores. functionally, all they do is leech resources away from the rest of the system. it's a colossal waste.

giving $600 each to three roommates is effectively giving $1800 to their landlord. better to take that out of the system entirely

What are the rates for these kinds of reactions for more common vaccinations?

given that older vaccines involved eggs, horse blood, and/or the actual virus itself, my guess is that it was one of these two options:
-such allergic reactions were more common
-people with related allergies knew not to get specific vaccines
(I suppose it could also have been some combination of the two)

because of the way this vaccine is developed, it's actually less likely to cause allergic reactions like this. I would guess that the reaction is just triggered by different allergies

there are three big reasons that billionaires donate that kind of money. tax deductions are one of them.

optics are #2 -- it makes them look good

the third is that it gives them significant control over whatever that organization decides to do. sometimes they even create their own organization to do whatever they want and funnel money into it. that's how shit like the Heritage Foundation got started.

Let me give some clarification, in American english a lot of style guides such as The American Heritage Book of English usage find the singular they as incorrect.

I'm unfamiliar, but my first guess would be that those guides are just outdated. do they by any chance suggest using "he" to refer to a single person of indeterminate gender?

I don't know about that particular pronoun, but the language does recognize three genders: masculine, feminine, and neutral.

my main reference point for this is Chaucer -- he was a Middle English writer (in the 1300s) who used the singular "they" quite a bit in his writing

it can be. but you're never going to like everyone, and there some people will never like you. the sooner you come to terms with it, the better it's going to be for you.

being "the outsider" also doesn't mean you can't have friends or other meaningful relationships. but being yourself ensures that those relationships are with people that you actually like, and people who like you.

I dunno man. I've done a lot of absorbing of people over the years. A lot of "studying" I guess. Kinda pathetic to say but I had to socialize myself in my 20s, never really got the real life experience prior to that. Up until really recently I've basically been a manufactured person. From what I've gleaned this is pretty normal. I'm not necessarily talking about like cruel vulgar stuff, but silly jokes about eating ass or slapping boobs or something. Not even in reference to specific people, just like if there's a general conversation going on about that topic

I absolutely recognize the feeling you're talking about -- a lot of the time I feel like I'm an alien observing people and figuring out how to act. I still make jokes and have fun with friends; some people just think I'm weird because I do XYZ, or because I don't do ABC. that's always going to be the case no matter what I do. I might be able to change those things about me given enough effort, but... why? it would be putting a lot of effort into something that would actively make me less happy

you're not necessarily doing anything bad by not doing ABC. if faking it makes you "feel kinda...gross and weird", then the solution is to just... stop faking it and do things that don't make you feel that way.

it received a ton of funding, it's benefiting from the last ~15 years of developing this kind of vaccine, and they were able to get the necessary sample size extremely quickly due to how contagious the virus is
