That limit is more when your spending/gifting habits are out of the ordinary. I think the regions you gift to matter a bit as well. But I haven't hit it this sale and I've spent like $500 between personal games and gifts.

Hmmm...that could explain it. Never gifted before and hadn't spent any money since March (which was actually the only previous time I'd spent anything in Steam).

There's no new Discovery Queue for today either, so no free trading card. Seems like a bug in the daily update. Might be fixed at some point today, so I would probably check in on it later.

I managed to get my Discovery Queue badge today :s There's definitely something up though, even if not everyone's being affected in the same way.

Man, Steam just hates me. I can't get today's free sticker - yesterday's one is still there and the countdown for tomorrow's has started. Wouldn't care normally as I don't ever see myself using the stickers but it's just problem after problem today :(

EDIT: Not just me then. I CAN keep moaning about Steam! (though I won't - I'm sure you've all had enough as it is!)

I've never had so much hassle with a company since AOL refused to cancel my free internet trial back in ~'96! Steam just doesn't seem to want my money :|

EDIT: If I'm still around (and have money!) when/if this is done again, I might just transfer money to people instead of gifting them! Will save me so much stress! XD

It varies from game to game. The publishers set the regional prices and if the price difference is more than 10% it doesn't let you gift.

Been looking for how to craft in the FAQ; it's about the only thing it doesn't cover, so many thanks for that (as well as all your other help) :)

Shame that backgrounds are pretty much RNG, but I didn't even know they existed until a few days ago so I shouldn't be too put out I guess.

Does anyone know why the number of friends you can have is tied into your level? I presume it's just to try and get people who need more spaces to spend more money? Seems rather stupid though imo. Doubt it'll ever affect me but still... :/

Hover over on *your steam name* menu, the one on the far right. Click Badges. Your Steam level(including xp till next level) is displayed at the top of that page. This page is also for checking your badge progress(trading cards are dropped by games that decided to include them, though only half the total cards for the game can drop. Yes, dupes can drop, and you will either have to trade with other players or pay for cards to complete a badge, unless you are very patient and get lucky with booster pack drops.

Steam has xp levels? How do I find mine? Only been on Steam since lockdown started and haven't really bothered with the aesthitics much outside of a name change and profile pic. Is there a dummies guide to the benefits of levelling up anywhere?

Also, kinda related, I've been looking into profile backgrounds since TroutPaste mentioned them in the first thread. I can't find anything I like and, to my knowledge, can't import my own. Are the backgrounds tied into the games you own or something? Are new ones ever added? Is there a way to actually create your own or not? Actually, come to think about it, a dummies guide to backgrounds (hell, Steam in general I guess! =D ) would also be appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction :) I just want a colourful psychedelic / abstract background really.

From what I gathered from the fall-out, it works but is nowhere near as safe. Obviously, being an electrician by trade (and he did end up becoming head of H&S at his company, so this might've had something to do with it), he would always go for the safest option.
