I'm going to guess the speech will be:

1: A speech that has 90 percent lies. Stuff like "its only antifa!", "arrest all protestors", "democrat's fault!!!"

or

2: Something that seems nicer: which means his staff wrote it. If it sounds like stuff he would never say.. it's clear he is only saying it because GOP convinced him to do it.

Not too surprised. Trump will say what he wants because he knows he can say almost anything. GOP doesn't care much. His base doesn't care much either. Behind the scenes- people can say all they want, but if they wont be public about it more... it's clear they are just letting Trump make things a ton worse.

The chances of a 2nd check are maybe a little higher now. But it wont fix much. Trump+GOP are greedy and super corrupt. Way too many people suffering and dying... but Trump+friends think its okay to go back to work. Big increases of covid will be happening 10-14 days from now, due to reopenings and all the riots/protests.

TopicIs your state ready to reopen from Covid?
NintendoFan81
05/28/20 8:03:34 PM
#17
Nah, my state isn't ready. The cases have been rising- mostly due to idiots and people out of state visiting resorts/bars "to support them". If people have the extra money to support businesses right now- DONATE online to them. Mail them a check if you can't donate online. Much better options rather than going to a place and risking more cases.

Most states in USA aren't ready. A new wave will happen many many places- because people are bored, people refuse to understand things and many still think "its no big deal" and so on. Face masks should be a requirement for all businesses, period.

If they enforce masks and social distancing- then maybe it wont be too horrible. However- I feel like they wont do enough, and it will just lead to many more cases. People from all over the world go to Disney, and there likely will be all the people that say "screw it, I want to have fun and go out again" without thinking of the spread much. I honestly worry for incidents of crazy people refusing to be safe, and violence as their way of revenge.

Reminder: currently Florida has the 9th most cases in USA. July is a bit away, so maybe the cases will drop and/or not be as bad. I'm doubtful because of all the people crowding the beaches and whatnot.

Second reminder- being outside doesn't magically kill the virus.

I rarely went to GameStop before the pandemic, and likely wont go back to them after the nonsense they tried to pull not too long ago. They were claiming to be "essential" just to stay open, and risked the health of their employees (many of which needed the money, so they simply couldn't call in).

Gamestop is a shady and horrible company, period. GameStop's deals are rarely good, and the "bonuses" they give are garbage/just random junk people love to resell on Ebay anyway.

Many much better places to get games. I would rather spend a little more to know I'm not supporting a garbage company.

Calling it now- things will be shut down in 2-3 weeks in many areas. Too many people are being unsafe still, and too many businesses value money over health+safety of employees/customers. People will buy anything because of some cute character. It's not just Nintendo.

It would be super funny if Nintendo just said screw it- here's a Raymond limited edition Amiibo card that works only in Animal Crossing. I can bet many people would resell the card at insane amounts, while others would beg Nintendo to produce more of them. Stores need the sales, so an item limit on it likely wouldn't happen I bet... so the resellers would win probably.

If a mall reopens now, it better be in areas that can handle a huge outbreak. Too many people are bored and looking to get out (which is a huge reason parks+beaches got packed with people quickly). People want to just be selfish and not realize all it takes is one sick person to infect many. Hoping the mall has rules in place- limits of a few people in a store at once, mask requirements and/or security to make bigger groups disperse.

It's rough out there, but it's just going to keep being the cycle of- reopen for a tiny bit, close, reopen and close until a cure/vaccine happens. Many hospitals aren't prepared. Many people STILL haven't been tested, etc. Life is much better than profits, period.

Way before pandemic, there was way too much food waste going on (by restaurants as a huge example).

Pro tips- eat less meat, be more mindful: don't waste food so much ! You might not like it.. but it's more than reasonable to do a meatless day or two during the week.

TopicDid US have the worst quarantine?
NintendoFan81
05/05/20 4:10:27 PM

Quarantine is still going on, and likely will happen for a bit. Places will reopen, big outbreak, closed again- which many people don't want to believe. There is likely 100's of thousands (if not more) in USA alone that have it but haven't been tested. Between the protestors and the people flocking to parks+beaches- I'm going to guess that will increase outbreak in those cities/surrounding areas by a bit too.

A pandemic is a serious issue but people are bored and would rather risk their health than be safe and smart ! It's unfortunate.

The greedy politicians that rarely get along aren't doing nearly enough to help. Health over profits should be common sense, period.

If big companies would stop just tossing and wasting stuff- and actually TRY to hire truckers/shipping companies (and so on), the food supply chain wouldn't be in this condition.

But unfortunately.. being wasteful is human nature. It was going on long before this pandemic- restaurant industry alone is to blame for a huge amount of waste. Same goes to the "bulk" stores such as Sam's Club, Costco and so on. People buy huge amounts of stuff- and a ton goes wasted because they bought too much.

Greed and selfish people are why so many people go starving, period.

A huge amount of USA politicans have done pretty bad stuff. The whole system is pretty corrupt unfortunately.

We are in a pandemic and they still can't get along much to help out regular people- that alone shows how horrible these people are. People applaud them for stimulus- but it feels like the bare minimum on their account. Trump is literally selling ventilators to other countries for profit, let that sink in.
