Well here in my city, we held protests with our Latino brothers and sisters when ICE was out round people up for no reason.

We also formed search parties to help find a 13 year old girl that had been kidnapped by a suspect sec trafficking ring.

Weve done countless things to help out our fellow minorities. Just because YOU dont hear about it doesnt mean that it doesnt happen.

That sounds interesting, do you have any news articles on that (preferably national) so I can read more on it?

I'd say speak out more about it but your approach isn't very helpful.

It's justified to be mad. I'm Mexican American, I'm mad about these situations too when I hear about them. There are groups speaking out about it right now, same with the Native women being abducted, attacks on Asian people, etc. but they aren't trying to detract from the overall topic at hand. We shouldn't be attacking sideways in order to bring light to these situations.

Haven't seen any news articles on this. How many are there compared to all of these articles about black people and police?

People saying I'm trying to divide and telling me to shut up. Show me all of the articles about black people and cops since the George Floyd incidnet. Now show me all of the articles about Latino's being killed by police. And I don't mean local ones, I mean headline ones.

Also, nobody talks about the comments he made towards Mexican Americans. The only thing they ever say about him in that is that he unfairly keeps people out of the country.

Btw, not trying to divide, just making the point that nobody cares about Latinos.

Video wouldn't have mattered. There was video of Rayshard Brooks punching and tasing the police and he was still the victim.

Meanwhile, Sean Monterrosa, who did none of that was forgotten about.

The wiki page said the killing of Sean Monterrosa sparked outrage in the Bay Area. But you're right I never heard of it. It looks like the police union tried their damn hardest to keep any information from getting out on it.

He had his hands up with hammer sticking out of his pocket and was killed because a cop 'mistook it for a gun' and nobody cared.

Meanwhile, Rayshard Brooks and Mike Brown attacked cops before being killed and it was ALL OVER the news and they were made out to be innocent victims, and nobody was charged in the killing of Sean Monterrosa.

So if black people want to complain about racism, that's my response.

Yeah but people feel sorry for blacks because of slavery and segregation (even though Mexicans dealt with segregation too, even though there were WHITE slaves). I think it's just because history, movies, the news all make black people out to be the victims in those cases, and no one else. Nobody mentions the Japanese facing racism and being rounded up in camps in WW2, nobodoy mentions the Native Americans having their land stolen, nobody mentions the fact that the Mexicans worked in the cotton fields as well and still do a lot of cheap labor for rich white people. In our culture, black people are the only victims because of what the media and our history books say. Because of that, black people get to play the race card, but as Latinos, we have nothing to back us up.

I don't see why Mexicans or Latinos in general don't speak up more often. As much as our own citizens deal with harassment because they look or sound illegal according to these racists, I don't hear much about helping them cope or trying to uplift their communities after such things happen. Maybe there are such groups just like I mentioned in the Black on black topic earlier, but there isn't much attention given.

it's because we're too busy fighting with each other and killing each other, and the news doesn't help us out at all when one of us gets killed. they're like, "oh just another gang banger getting shot." but when it's a black person, they are ALWAYS a victim.

Wasn't trying to, just stating the truth. How often was Sean Monterrosa in the news? Who here heard of him before I mentioned him? Be honest. If he was black,there would have been riots in California and it would have been all we heard about for the next two months.

Which sucks. Sometimes I wish I was black and not Latino, that way laws would protect me and people would protest my death if I were unjustly killed.

FYI, Sean Monterrosa was the latino guy killed by police. I mentioned him twice, and nobody responded -- that's because nobody knows who he is, because he wasn't in the news more than once or twice.

Also, we've had a black president and a bunch of white ones, but no Mexicans. Nobody cares about us. Make fun of us all you want, but don't say anything about a black person. Heh.

One thing a lot of people don't realize is that police tasers are a lot stronger than the ones you can get at a flea market. When you get shot with a cop taser, it temporarily paralyzes you and you feel excruciating pain all over your body. If a cop gets shot with it, they are defenseless for at least 5 seconds, maybe more. During that time, you can be shot, beat up, have your neck broke, run over with a car, or really anything the attacker wants to do to you.

I would love to do it in real life. I think if I could do actually it and probe people, they wouldn't be so brave. Check this video out. Getting tased would hurt like a motherfucker. These guys are marines and you see how much pain they are in. A taser usually isn't lethal, but it can be. If you think being tased is nothing, I would advise you to go be a cop:

Also they yelled "got him!" and kicked him in the head on the ground while he was dead. That was certainly an act of hate and the officers are rightfully facing murder charges as they should
