What cause for arrest do they have now that they didnt have then

Realities such as the fact arresting any officer for a crime like that creates major legal headaches for local and state police, states attorneys, probation, jails, etc that will go far beyond what he did to mr floyd and they wanted to make sure they had their ducks in a row

However they clearly miscalculated what would transpire in that time and it created a much much larger problem for them

By the way, not that most of you will care or accept it (and thats okay), i am geniunely sorry for the things i have posted in the past that were done with the intention to hurt or belittle others. While most of that transpired outside of this topic, a lot of you still seem to be carrying that so i did want to apologize and say that is on me. As some of you know, i spent most of my young adulthood heavily addicted to opiates and that loss of control in my personal life led to me taking things out on people i didnt know online. Not sure why Churches would be considered essential. And they're definitely large gatherings of elderly people (who are most at risk), so I can see why they would be ordered closed. I guess religious people just need to feel special/persecuted all the time.

I think the insanely obvious answer is that up until the past few generations, these people consider church to be the most essential part of their lives. Regardless of how you or I feel about it, religion was a pretty huge deal to most of society not too long ago, and still is in many areas

churches were deemed essential in that state so it doesn't entirely make sense but if places are still trying to say churches aren't essential right now they're running head first into a first amendment issue they're likely to lose.
