My own mind canon is that the force itself is an evil power. This is why the jedi have to be so disciplined: they need to have the strength to use the power of the force while having the incredible mental fortitude to prevent the force from taking control of them.

The moment a Jedi shows any kind of mental weakness (like anger, jealousy, fear, etc) then the force sees an opening and is able to destroy their free will and take control of them. The fallen Jedi then feels as if they now have complete freedom, but it's an illusion since their will has actually been destroyed and it's the force itself controlling them.

So, there's no light side and dark side. There's just those who have the strength to use the force without letting it destroy them, and those who don't.

That's one way I guess. I prefer to think of the Force as just "a power". Its use entirely depends on whose using it and how, and like any kind of power, it can corrupt. I don't believe anyone is truly "lost" to the Force or controlled by it. In the end, even the worst are still allowed to make decisions.

Calling the Force evil is like calling a tornado evil, or a meteorite strike.

Well that's the point, isn't it? No one did try.

The theme is that people can change, but it doesn't mean everyone will change.

You could say the same for Maul, Dooku, Stormtrooper TK-421 and so on.

I've actually been that man who had a girl stay over who was engaged to someone else.

Of course I didn't do anything, but it put in perspective my relationship with her and how what we were doing (essentially being each others confidants) was bad for both of us. I made sure to break it off despite us being friends for five years.

The greater theme of Star Wars is that despite the seeming light/dark dichotomy of the universe, everyone has both within them, and no one is ever truly one nor the other. Even the greatest can fall, and even the lowest can be saved.

That doesn't mean the galaxy has to forgive and forget. It doesn't mean that past deeds are wiped away, but it does mean that what beings in the SW universe do in the end means something.

Also I don't think I'd ever play this with English voice acting. I'm far from one of them types of people who intentionally play a game with both languages in Japanese, but I really don't think this game would work as well to me in English.

There's something about the Japanese language that truly sells the overly dramatic parts of the series.

Apart from the very first Yakuza, two games in the RGG metaseries received a dub: Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise and Judgment. Both I feel are quite good, but neither of them are properly "connected" to the main Yakuza storyline.

There's rumors that Yakuza 7 is getting a dub and that'd be the one I'd be more apprehensive about, considering we'd be getting English voices for certain characters that have been speaking only Japanese to the fanbase for ten years.

I think it's because Spawn is a product of the edgelord 90s and there are two reasons people want him to come back.

1) They are piteously stuck in that era of their lives (which was probably their childhood)

2) Irony and camp

Whenever I watched TCW, I always felt like Maul treated his hatred of Kenobi as way more personal than Kenobi ever did.

Now I realize Maul's a Sith and Kenobi's a Jedi and it's more in character and philosophy for Maul to hold grudges, but it made the whole thing feel greatly one-sided.

Like Maul shows up and Kenobi's like "oh him again, okay".

I really don't see how that doesn't mean one can't be both. It's really hard to have a villain that's intimidating and despicable and not bad ass. Especially if you don't want them to seem weak, cowardly, or fragile minded.

Perhaps the real issue is that everyone's perspective on this hinges on their own personal definition of "badass", a loosely defined term.
