lmao are you kidding me

At $4k/mo you'll go through $1 million in a mere 21 years.

Suppose you could invest at 8%. Take out 4% for inflation and that's more than your interest.

You would still be making money through you salary. Also, you don't have to live there forever.

What kind of money? Money as in I never have to worry about again? Or money as in I can afford it, but I have to think to myself "is this really the best decision?" when if I lose my job there's a clear and definite timeline in how long I can stay without a job? If it's the latter, no thanks. When I was taking on a decent internship in NYC, I made sure to go for the cheapest room and took on an apartment with a bunch of roommates at under $600 a month. I have friends who went and got studios, subsidized by parents or student loans, for $2K. That's fraught, you gotta live within your means.

Would you do it if you had $1 million?

A random song would come into my head that I hadn't heard or thought of in years or decades, then seconds or minutes later a car would pass by playing that exact song.

A random word would come into my head that isn't the most common, then I would hear someone say it to me in conversation or hear my relative say it or hear it on TV later on in the same day.

really, vol? around how old were you? did you ever get around to watching all the smallville episodes?

That started in high school, probably around junior year. There were many fast food places 2 blocks from the school but I always went to the Burger King to get food for myself, my younger sister, and my grandmother.

I plan to start rewatching with my brother soon. This was the last episode we left off on:

Not specifically, but my dad used to leave an envelope with money on the table for me to spend on things that were needed. I only spent it on food for my sister and I, groceries if we ran out of something essential, and art classes a few times a year.

"one of the good ones" lmao

even saying that seriously is basically admitting you are racist af

Yeah, quite a bit of people do have that mindset. They treat you with respect and politeness, but that's because they think of you differently than other black people.

This is when racism is subtle, since you wouldn't think they were racist until you hear certain comments that they make, which could be years later.

These two models from Craigslist (I guess they must also be a couple). Bumping into them after seeing Manchester By the Sea in early 2017 was cool, since I had lost contact with them and we started working together again after that.

Anyway, I did enjoy the movie but I was pretty down going into it and I perked up after bumping into those people. I would love to watch it again.

Even when you try to relate it to them in a way that should make sense it's still like "nope don't do, nope nope nope"

I mentioned here the other week that this (white) friend that me and my brother had since childhood blocked my brother simply because he showed the friend a recent Eddie Murphy SNL skit. The skit showed the black family dismayed at their daughter bringing home a white guy, which was intended as humor in role reversal, but out friend claimed that he was "tired of the racism".

Also learned that the friend's father generally dislikes black people but was fine with our family because we were "one of the good ones".

In a box office achievement fit for royalty, Disneys Frozen 2 is officially the highest-grossing animated movie in history.

The sequel has generated $1.325 billion at the global box office, pushing past Frozen ($1.281 million) and Incredibles 2 ($1.243 million) to secure the top spot. Though Jon Favreaus remake of The Lion King is entirely computer generated and earned $1.65 billion in 2019, Disney considers it a live-action reboot rather than an animated flick. Either way, the benchmark only solidifies Disneys place as the preeminent force on all things animation the studio is now responsible for the top three biggest cartooned movie of all time.

I used to think it came to how you phrased it but I think a lot of people just don't want to accept that there is a chance that someone not being white might make things slightly harder for them.

People also feel like they are being personally attacked for being white and they then end up becoming defensive, whereas all people are doing is pointing out injustices.
