If you prefer 2D, Guilty Gear Xrd second rev has one of the best tutorials in all of fighting games. If you want something a little more high octane, Dragon Ball fighterz has a decent single player mode and they're in the process of making some pretty major overhauls to the assist system which should add a lot of needed depth. Why the fuck would you recommend fast paced games to someone who hasnt played in a long time? Tekken 7 was a good rec, but the rest not so much.
