Frey's Philosophy is VERY FULL of RHYTHM GAME POWER i can't believe this guy powerless would LIE about him and song not true good sound piano goes updownupdownupdown SUDDENLY CHANTING. I've never really had much to say about this song but it's very cool. I feel like it never really reaches its full potential though. Speaking of not fulfilling its potential, Gamma's theme!! I do like Gamma's theme a lot as well, it seems to want to go places that it's never allowed to.... that is until Crazy Robo happens and that song was my favorite Sonic song like ever for a Long Time but this is not Crazy Robo!!

KIRBY MUSIC AAAAAAAAAAA the lines between fluffy happy and downright sinister that some kirby tunes manage to walk perfectly along is just absolutely insane, and this song is one of the best examples of that. It also doesn't come across as an "overly pretentious" song that acts like its The Most Important Song In The World which some kirby songs do nowadays but I won't get into that much here yet. CIEL_NOSURGE is super solid, but kinda weak by Akiko Shikata standards, which is a shame really. It's very good, but kinda "filler music" and I can never really remember much about it without listening to it besides that it starts with music noise. Easy match here but I appreciate both songs!!

NO THIS MATCH IS TOO HARD NOPE NUH UH okay it's actually... not hard at all despite being next to each other in my rankings lol. My problem with both of this is literally the same.... INSANELY good sound but lacks impact in melody and other composition stuff so when I listen to it its like WHOOOOOOA YEAAAAAAAAAAAH and then afterwards it's like "wow I love jihad!" or "wow I love Gallant Gunshot!" like they're kind of outclassed songs in a way??? which is totally bias because i'm familiar with these other extremely similar songs but I guess that doesn't really matter here because it's not affecting my decision between the two. yasui wins over kotoko today sorry face of fact!!! Eschatos is definitely my favorite, but I can't just talk about one without mentioning all the others up there with it!! Mega Man 10, Mega Man 5, Pokemon Black/White 1 and 2, Pokemon Battle Revolution, Smash Melee, Kirby Air Ride, Blue Reflection, Atelier Shallie, Ar nosurge, DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu Black Label, Dariusburst/Another Chronicle/Chronicle Saviours, beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro and 24 SINOBUZ, Espgaluda 1 and 2, Klonoa 2, R4, Phantasy Star Online 2 (especially Episode 4 stuff)... man, I could just start listing off a ton of shit but that's a solid "top tier".

EYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY YAH i swear as time goes on i come to love confronting myself more and more. it got absolutely ROBBED going up against crab in the retirement round last contest but considering that it only lost to crab by one point.... yeah, this song is ready to go on a fuckan rampage. Thermal Base 1 is actually really cool as well though, it reminds me a LOT of the JP Sonic CD soundtrack, which people may remember I spent a good amount of time rather recently listening to intently and I love the JP Sonic CD soundtrack so this is a very good thing!! I wish I could vote for it... but Confronting Myself is way too strong an opponent to me. Thank you vocalisa slavic women's choir.......

haruka na sora ni chikae owaranai kibou to yuuki woooooo~~ there's just something so, SO good about the distant sky that I can't exactly pinpoint. It should be just another kinda generic-ish anime OP to me but there's something special about it. its soooo goooood aaaaaa. Zadok is also so good too but not in a way that's immediately super appealing to me so this match is WEIRD because I feel the same about the quality of the songs, but my preference greatly decides the match unfortunately. great match tho!!

Blazing Flaming Bonds Are Being Tested In Trial is a pretty cool song!! go shiina is BACK BACK AGAIN but i think this miiiiight be my least favorite of the trial songs??? water is def 1 and wind is def 2 so it's kinda a toss up between this and land. But it's still really cool sounding, shame it's in a Battle Against a TOTTO opponent. Douwa Kairou is TOTTO being injected with prog and REAL INSTRUMENT GUITARS and happy!!! gitadora i love you song even if you are like mid-tier totto.

"1NF3S+@+!0N" - Theme of Crabulon [1st] vs Rivers in the Desert [11th]

Heading Back to Town is a really cool experience; Shiina really is so good at hammering out that style-defining sugar-laced violin sound that just stabs you with how particular of a sound it is. I don't even think what I just said made sense at ALL but god Shiina's violin and piano shine a lot in this song. I just wish it was a tad bit more memorable so I could think more about it, but for now it's still just a cool thing to listen to. Desire Blue Sky takes FOREVER to not be a snoozefest, but once it kicks in at 1:10 with the cool computery beeps it's pretty cool! Unfortunately it stays like that for most of the song and I end up realizing it's not interesting enough to keep my heart in the game. Kinda easy despite it being such a close match in numbers.

Okay so I don't mean to be "that guy" but I realized when tossing values into my ranking that I was... still technically ranking based on the Japanese version (cause I had a rating for Kaze no Ne prior) and I never caught it....... oops. Yeah Donna Burke just doesn't do it for me in the song at all, there's just small subtleties in Yae's inflection that hit certain points with pinpoint accuracy and Donna just... can't match whatso ever. So this is an easy one for Reach for the Moon, which is still just as good as ever honestly. Sorry meme-sayers, it's the year of Mokou!
