I'm on the fence with regards to buying this on launch. I just got a new desktop PC this past weekend, my first ever with parts dedicated to gaming. I also just finished putting 180 hours into Persona 5 Royal and it's hard to imagine jumping right back into another RPG. Still, Xenoblade Chronicles is a game I've never had the opportunity to play but have always wanted to.

I played a very large chunk and was enjoying it, but fell off when I kept dying while trying to discover more big pieces of the puzzle and had to repeatedly restart, especially for things that took a bit of game time in the loop to reveal themselves. It got tedious and frustrating.

I still would like to see the ending myself which is why I haven't sought it out yet, but having to jump back in and reacclimate myself with everything is daunting.

Since it's approaching, let me give a brief blurb on Round 2.

Once Round 1 is completed, I will randomly pair up all of the divisions from Round 1. The games that advanced among those pairs will face off in 1v1 battles. The games that won their division have already secured entry into Round 3 and thus will not be participating in these battles. The opponents will be determined by how games finished in their divisions. The game that finished 2nd will face the game that finished 7th in the paired division. Same goes with 3rd vs 6th and 3th vs 5th. For example, if Division 15 and 16 happened to be matched up, these would be the 1v1 battles:

New Super Mario Bros. U vs. Tomb Raider

Prey (2017) vs. Life is Strange

Final Fantasy XIII vs. Horizon Zero Dawn

Voters have five points to distribute among the games in each individual matchup; essentially, they can vote 5-0, 4-1, or 3-2. Winners advance.
