Edit: saying without resistance is incorrect. The cops held that precinct for days. They retreated when they ran too low on less than lethal weapons and the crowds were way too big to fight.

This is quite an issue, if they are being attacked to the point where their entire precinct is getting torched, doesn't that constitute possible lethal force? And they only used non-lethal resistance?
