That inspired someone to start a meetup for Friendship Is Magic on meetup.com that was relatively close by to me, much to my surprise. For the first meetup, there was gonna be about 50 people in attendance. Someone I knew wanted to go, so they drove me down there and I brought my Wii and some multi-player gaming stuff, and we hung out. After that first day, it became sort of a regular thing to show up to as many meetups as we could. Eventually, I got to know some of the people there pretty well, and when the other guy stopped giving me rides to them, other people I met at those meetups would pick me up instead. Even though FiM's popularity has waned by now, I still know a handful of people just because of those meetups. How old are you now? 36. ;_; I can't believe it's been that long...Thinking about it, I guess the 9th anniversary of that first meetup will be next month... --- WHO MODS THE MODERATORS? |

Like, one guy I know, I tried to tell him how obnoxious ads are. And YouTube didn't even have ads at first, so having them now is especially egregious. He was just like, "Well, guess what? Things change." But he's sort of a corporate bootlicker.
