To sum up. And this is going to sound really dumb because...well, because Gotham is really dumb. But it honestly makes it work.

In the penultimate season, Jerome Valeska - Gotham's version of the Joker - is killed. Before he dies, he sends a gift box of laughing gas (essentially Joker Venom + fear toxin) to his twin brother, Jeremiah. Jeremiah was essentially a good dude who had struck up a friendship with Bruce, but the gas drove him insane and turned that friendship into an obsession. While Jerome was the more manic interpretation of the Joker, Jeremiah is the colder, more calculating one. He plans to detonate giant bombs in strategic locations, toppling buildings and turning Gotham into a giant "maze," but his plans are thwarted. It's then that R'as Al Ghul allies with him, eventually leading to R'as' death and all of the bridges in Gotham being destroyed.

This leads the final season to being a loose adaptation of No Man's Land. It becomes an amazing mess. The main plotline is that the Secretary of Homeland Security is ultimately revealed to be Nyssa al Ghul. She wants to destroy Gotham for killing her father. She has Hugo Strange put mind control chips in the Riddler. Under her influence, Riddler blows up a building full of refugees to show the US government that the city's just full of criminals. She subsequently sends in a military squad led by one of Gordon's former military buddies, Eduardo Dorrance. After shenanigans, Gordon ends up on the hitlist and Dorrance ends up being badly injured. So what happens then? Nyssa has Huge Strange turn the dude into Bane.

In the midst of all this, Bruce and Selina are hunting down Jeremiah but ultimately fail. Jeremiah has had his forces build a tunnel under Wayne Manor and had a plastic surgeon turn two random people into lookalikes of the Waynes. With the help of the Mad Hatter, he has the lookalikes and Alfred hypnotized into thinking they're the Waynes too. He leads Bruce and the "Waynes" to the theater where a homemade Mask of Zorro is playing with Jeremiah as the star, taunting Bruce. He's essentially jealous that some random mugger forged such a deep connection with Bruce by killing his parents, so this is him try to retcon himself into Bruce's origin story. Which is actually a pretty cool idea for the Joker.

While that's happening, he's also planning to flood the river around Gotham with toxic chemicals to stop Gotham from rejoining the mainland. Lee Thompkins and Gordon sneak into the Ace Chemicals building to try and stop that, but they're caught and Jeremiah decides to use them as Bruce's surrogate parents instead of the lookalikes. So when Bruce gets to the alley, the two of them are hypnotized and ready to get shot. Obviously, that fails and Bruce and Jeremiah end up fighting in the Ace Chemicals building. You can probably guess what happens.

The last plotline is that Penguin's living large in this situation. When Riddler gets his chip removed, he convinces Penguin that they should get out of the city and try to build a submarine to escape. After some interruption from Penguin's secretary who has gone insane and is now taking orders from a puppet called Scarface, they get the sub up and running.

The climax is when Nyssa has a mind-controlled general order the destruction of Gotham. Everyone - including Penguin and Riddler - joins forces to hold back the army. I forget exactly how it happens, but they stop the army. Nyssa tries kidnapping Gordon's newborn baby, but that fails too and she escapes with Riddler's submarine.

The final episode's a timeskip ten years into the future. It's kind of blah honestly, mostly just setting up that oh yeah Batman exists.

Ha, finally pulled it off. It was like a redemption run. Did the exact same thing and replaced my starting relic. Once again got the Bell. Once again got the Shuriken. Once again went for a Shiv build. Went much, much better. I even beat the Time Eater when he seems to directly counter this kind of deck. The big tipping point was probably the Shovel. Thanks to it, I had 22 relics on this run.

I got some pretty good cards for a Strength/Shiv build, I feel. Quite a few 0 cost attacks, a couple that did multiple small hits many times, and the power that put a Shiv in your hand each turn.

On the other hand, I did pass up two Catalysts, so maybe you have a point.

It depends on what you want out of it.

Terraria is much more focused on combat and an RPG type progression system. Minecraft, mostly just by virtue of being 3D, is much better for building.

I just can't win with the Silent. I did the "get rid of your starting relic, get a boss relic" which gave me a Bell which gave me three relics. One of them was the Shuriken. So I figured, hey, I'll aim for the Shiv style deck. I even got the Boot early on.

Im a big Batman fan and I don't even know what Gotham (the show) is. Whenever I see it I just assume it's some kind of political Gotham show that basically just wants to make money on the name alone. And I've never looked into it.

I highly recommend it. It starts as trying to be this serious thing with the GCPD during the time the Waynes are murdered. It becomes so ridiculously, gloriously stupid.

Gotham Central was great, but I don't know how this will work out. I highly doubt they're going to let it use any of the big Batman villains, so I don't know how it'll be any different than a regular police show except they sometimes mention the Penguin.

The episode's bad guy doesn't have a fight scene. She's just a corporate lady. Her defense is, "Oh, I've got you now, Wonder Woman. I have security footage of you breaking into my building and brutally murdering all of my guards. You're going to jail."

And WW basically goes, "LMAO THINK AGAIN BITCH."

And then the police show up - because a cop said they didn't have a warrant to search the place, but they could show up if a crime was being committed. A crime like Wonder Woman breaking in and murdering a bunch of people. But then they arrest corporate lady and Wonder Woman's fine.

By far the most insane fucking part of the show is her secret identity. She fights crime as Wonder Woman. She runs a company as Diana Themyscira, the publicly known identity of WW. But then sometimes she gets sad, so she puts on some glasses, puts her hair in a ponytail, and goes to a secret apartment to watch TV with her cat as Diana Prince.

Nick fucked with them a LOT. Season 1 was going to be the last. Then Season 2 was. Then they got S3 and S4 ordered. Then they slashed S4's budget so much that they could either fire most of their staff or do one less episode (this is why there's a clip show). Then they decided S4 would be online only.

That was probably by necessity. The Avatar State is essentially a deus ex machina in the original series. It's just such a giant power multiplier. Korra got around this by having it be the hurdle she couldn't pass. She'd mostly mastered the elements, but she just couldn't connect to the spiritual side. It was only in the very last moment of the first season that she gained the ability to go into the Avatar State.

And then Nickelodeon said, "Fuck it, give us another one." So instead of the relatively elegant way they'd dealt with the problem, you get a season where it's inexplicably weaker than when Aang used it.

So Mercy's grand plan was to have Beast Boy turn into a tiger at a fair so Connor could stop him. What? Why is that such a grand advertisement? I'd give even odds to any of the Titans at beating up a tiger. Him firing the gun and catching the bullet before it hit Mercy was far more impressive. You can't even try to explain it by assuming she was drawing out the Titans so Superboy could defeat them because Cadmus was surprised when they showed up.

And honestly, I find it a little weird. You're telling me Lex Luthor goes to the trouble of making a Superman clone and then he just tries to sell it?

And I knew Donna died at the end of this season, but that's how they do it? All the fighting is over, there's a moment of triumph, and they literally drop a fucking pole on her? What. The fuck. And it's doubly bizarre because the show immediately says that Rachel might be able to bring her back to life. I would say you wouldn't introduce that idea without followup, but this is Titans so maybe she's just dead forever.

And there's far too much arguing and separation for the show to be doing the We'Re A fAmIlY thing so constantly.

At least they did explain that Bruce didn't actually have godlike influence that allowed him to bring everyone to a diner in the middle of Nevada. And hey, they're actually all finally a team. After two seasons.

I don't think any of the casting is bad actually. I think Starfire is actually one of the better characters, probably because she can crack a fucking smile now and again. All of the actors, the characters, the effects, it's all there. The writing (and some of the fight choreography) is just so fucking weak.

The writing is just so unbelievably bad sometimes. Deathstroke blames the Titans for killing his son, but he decides that them breaking up is all the revenger he needs? Dick just gets himself arrested out of nowhere. Rachel asks to go with Donna and then walks out of the taxi. Donna stays in the taxi instead of following her, but then she stays in San Francisco solely to find her. Hank and Dawn decide to kindasorta change their names and just move to the same town where a supervillain blew up their house. Beast Boy....well, Beast Boy and Conner are okay, the actions they take are the result of realistic flaws in their characters.

But by far the most baffling thing to me is that after twenty-two episodes, we still haven't seen a full-on teamup. The only time they were ever all together was when they faced Trigon. Given that he immediately brainwashed all of them and used them to help try and end the world, they'd have been better off if they hadn't teamed up then. Despite that, we've seen the team break up twice.

For what it's worth, a lot of people think the name is a placeholder to hide who she's really supposed to be. Given her background, it's not impossible that she'd be a loose adaptation of Stephanie Brown. Like the other guy said, it's because Laguerta was based more on her book character in S1. From what I've read in plot summaries, book Laguerta is a manipulative bitch who mostly just cares about office politics rather than actual police work.

Of course, the biggest difference between the two of them is that she dies in the first book.
