Hot take: Hunter x Hunter would have been much better off if it didn't try so hard to explain the rules of its combat system.

Also I know this is going back really far but I just can't understand this opinion at all. The way they go so intricately into the combat systems is one of my favorite things about the show. I just love the nitty gritty stuff like that.

I wanted to beat the game tonight but I just suddenly found myself out leveled by the enemies and bosses. I've been pretty overleveled the whole game and just all of a sudden here I am. I'm ready to be done already but now I have to go grind...yay.

Whew finally beat that bitch Lorithia. That was kind of a nightmare. The first time was going alright until the 4 nebulae were resummoned, then I suddenly got annihilated and have no idea what happen. I go back in more prepared and it glitches out and I can't kill the nebula but the boss also never uses a single special attack or anything. Just auto-attacked Reyn the whole time lol.

The problem I was having was against a unique monster who's spike was doing like 650 dmg and I couldn't get him to topple easily and Shulk's purge wasn't cutting it. I ended up doing everything else in the area first, leveled up a few times and then just outhealed his stupid spike shit with Sharla lol. Still dumb though.

In the battle against Gadolt, are there any gameplay changes if you control Sharla? Like will he avoid attacking you, or I guess her if she's non-controlled?

Very few of my current equipment has gem slots. Plus I only have like 1 or 2 spike defense gems. I don't want to have to grind out shit or spend a ton of time just to deal with bullshit. Bad design is bad.

Spike aruas are the worst thing in this game and honestly I'd argue it's just poor design. It's INCREDIBLY fucking frustrating. And when you use Shulk's aura seal you still take the fucking damage for that attack, fucking stupid bullshit.

And apparently enemies can resist Melia's aura breaking attack that has a long ass cool down and is tied to her talent art?? What the actual fuck.

I don't understand what I'm supposed to do about this.

I'm just now finishing up on the fallen arm. Man the story fucking jumped to lightspeed when I hit Sword Valley! Ironically, that's when I stopped playing the original all those years ago <_<. Man the battle music here was so unexpected lol. I still forget about it every time until it starts up.

Shulk can get optional Monado arts?? Dafuq I had no idea. I also didn't know there were additional skill trees until this playthrough either lol.

Anywho, I just finished with prison island. All sidequests I can find bested. At about 60 hours.

I started playing as Melia. I dunno if I'm playing her right. Usually I summon fire, then copy it, then thunder or water and then start using her art while alternating summoning more. I assume that's it.

I've been avoiding this topic for spoilers but I'm about 20 hours in, just got to the forest area. Game is pretty good so far but good lord there are so many side quests. I mean I knew that going in and I was prepared but last night I played for 4 hours and I think I was just doing side quests.

There was a Nopon in a cave in the marsh that gave me like 7 quests so I had to keep going up and down the mountain to talk to him. Just have him move to the camp after the first quest so I can fast travel to him!

lol I just scrolled up and saw someone else complaining about Zazadan too

Ha I spent like 8 hours one day just doing side quests. I'm almost 40 hours in and just about done with Makna Forest. x_x

I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I'm having a much better time with this version than the original verison which I never finished. It just looks so good, specifically the characters. It's just such a massive improvement.
