I think Old Milwaukee and Steel Reserve are the worst beers i've had. Icehouse Edge is kind of vile also. I'll drink them if there's no other option though.

I didnt even really know it till yesterday but apparently his dad was an abusive drunk. I knew a little but he was going off about it yesterday.

i dont know how that would effect me so im not gonna say anything else about it.

I come from a long line of heavy drinkers on both sides but aside from one uncle on my moms side who basically drank away his tenure as a professor and my granny on my dads side they were all more or less unaffected by it. im carrying on a tradition practically. I feel like theres a huge genetic role in how you handle alcohol.

Got another uncle who has always drank a ton but it was never an issue until after my cousins suicide earlier this year. Hopefully he tones it down cause drinking isnt the way to kill that pain. Not that i can even imagine what hes going through.

You can't feel responsible for his long term actions and what he turned into. It's his life and his decisions, you were just his boy and liked getting tanked with him. We all were there at some point, we had those buddies that we got lit with, or drank with. Some move on from it, some stick it out. Don't put that on yourself, it sounds like he needs help if he's going there with it, but he needs a professional if he decides to seek that out.

Youre completely right. I just wish i knew how to make him get help. God knows he wont listen to me and even if he would im just a functional version of the same for the most part.

Really i feel bad for him and about whatever role i played in it ending up in this.... but also i feel like a dick cause as soon as people were around and it caused a scene i truly wanted to just leave him to it. I didnt and i wouldnt but i feel bad for wanting to so much.

it was all around bad but when we got to a place with other people and he bailed again and started having a mini breakdown.... like maybe im an asshole but i dont want anyone to see me around that tbh. It was embarrassing and by that time id already put up with an insane amount of shit.

I mean hes a friend and you stand by your friends but i was kneeling by him trying to be all firm and saying listen look at me. Look me in the eyes. Hey. Look at all these people bud. You can get up and walk. Ill help. use your bike to support yourself. Dont ride. Dont yell anymore. Look at me and just pull it together. Just get it together and lets at least get past this place and away from the crowd and you can do whatever.

im the shit show guy not the caretaker. But that was a whole different deal. I havent been that fucked since i was ~14. It was just... i wish i had video cause it would be a wakeup for him.

Fuck me. I had an experience that makes me feel bad about drinking.

Not me personally but i was out at a spot with my buddy whos mid 40s and has 60+ pounds on me and i was genuinely concerned for his safety. I had to actually be controlling when thats the furthest thing from my nature.

he couldnt stand on level ground and i had to pick him up out of poison ivy multiple times and had to flat out yell at him to fucking sit down and let me carry my bike and his up the rocks and to not fucking move till i came back for him and then he crashed his bike 4 or 5 times and couldnt even stand up without help and he wouldnt fucking stop trying to ride even though i kept telling him id walk with him and to just take it easy.

Then he got pissed and started getting hostile to me and i had to fake anger when i felt genuine concern (which is infinitely worse) just to get him to shape up and walk with me instead of killing himself.

It was a bad scene.

Ive known him since i was like 24 and he was 30 or 31 and I legitimately feel bad right now cause he wasnt really a drinker when i met him and i feel like i was the primary factor in him drinking heavily in his 40s.

He obviously cant handle it in spite of his size but it was always funny before today.

Today i had to pick him up and carry him and his bike as well as mine after his final crash and deal with him yelling and swearing at me till i finally just put him in his place.

Otherwise im having a great day but fuck i think he genuinely needs help and maybe thats partly my fault.

Get a couple of up close pics if you can, but in the meantime an old trick I learned that tends to work with a lot of pests is pretty easy to do. Get some white cardboard or card stock, and color the thing in with neon yellow highlighter. Then mix together two parts petroleum jelly and one part Dawn dish soap, make sure it's Dawn brand. Then brush on both sides of the yellow cardboard or card stock, and hang it in a safe, open area near the plants. It will attract a lot of plant parasites to the paper instead, they will get stuck, and the Dawn will kill them.

If you ever get a flea issue with Walter also, Dawn is safe to bathe a cat in and will kill fleas incredibly well and prevent them for a few days while you treat him.

I watered the last remaining one today and did it with my shower head to at least knock them off. Theres some left but ill try and get a pic when more come back (and they will i tried a few things already which obviously did nothing).

Also that works great. I always buy dawn anyways cause i know its like a primary tool for cleaning water fowl after an oil spill.

Might as well buy dish soap that also has a good purpose.

Cropping and docking has a function for working dogs, the Cane Corso is a traditional working breed. I don't have to worry about hematomas, torn ears and infections when she's out in the field.

That would explain why my dads crazy off the grid friend has 4 of em alongside his blue heelers, aussie cattle dogs, and his weimeraners.

I genuinely didnt know they were working dogs.

i had them show up on all the peppers on my balcony last year and they ignored all my other plants.

Her tail was already docked, I had her ears done at 12 weeks. It's like circumcision to me, if you do it fine, if not that's fine too. She was playing and doing her thing like nothing happened right after the surgery, several years and no ear infections or torn ears, yay.

I'm more concerned about dogs that are fat and under exercised, untrained, poorly bred with crippling hip dysplasia, so brachycephalic that they can't run 20 yards without passing out, heads so big they can't give birth naturally. Those kinds of things.

Im not trying to tell anyone how to raise their animals but personally im against both those practices.

Its not really a good comparison. One is purely for aesthetic reasons and one is for religious or hygiene reasons (i personally think those are bs reasons but im talking about motivation here).

anyone docking their dogs tails or cropping the dogs ears is doing it for aesthetics and the dog definitely doesnt gaf about their aesthetics.

No i havent.

I remember my dad taking me and my step bros out during hale bop when i was little and it was awesome though. We went way way out past any light pollution and ill never forget the show i saw. Actually maybe it was haleys comet? Either way it was incredible.
