The social stigma is worse than the actual STD.

The only real negative aspect seems to be in regards to pregnancy. They make the woman take anti vitals so it doesn't spread to the baby, which can be very harmful apparently

Especially a dragging 2 hour and 40 min movie where brad driving around is a large chunk of movie.

Leo whining about acting is a large chunk of movie.

People smoking is a large chunk of movie.

It's okay that you're not into in-depth character studies without a lot of action.

But these were excellent. Brad driving around gives us a glimse into the gorgeous production design bringing a bygone era to life. It's like when you're in a train speeding by a landscape that you find fascinating.

I'm curious. For a more naive movie person, is that something that was meant to be noticeable? Like, is there a reason I should have found that production design special?

rich people should not be coerced to give their money, and people are not entitled to that which belongs to others, however a healthy society hinges on some degree of charitableness with respect to those involved

this inclination has eroded tremendously over the years, in part due to government action, in part due to cultural shifts spurring government action

the legal legitimacy of this gradual expansion of wealth redistribution, of course, has given rise to a sense of unaccountable entitlement with respect to those who are the beneficiaries or potential beneficiaries of this redistribution, a sense of resentment for the underprivileged rather than compassion, and enduring antagonism between different revenue sources and their corresponding beneficiaries

Ehh, I can't help but feel that that wouldn't change even in charities. People will still have the issue where they'll see the beneficiary acting "irresponsible" with their money and feel like people are acting entitled to their money.

I think TC is wrong, but I do dislike this argument. Like, people really can believe, wrongly in my opinion, in what TC is trying to say, without it being about defending the rich.
I think the idea behind the argument is that, because our safety nets/societal institutions aren't properly funded (due to the rich abusing loopholes to not pay their fair share), that everyone below them financially is in greater danger than they realize.

Say that a guy loses his job through no fault of his own. He can't pay his mortgage now. His family no longer has health insurance. Within a few months, they're on the streets, ill, and hungry. Heaven forbid if any of them have chronic conditions. Some will turn to crime just to eat. Some will die from the elements.

This is how the rich can cause hunger and violence.

I pretty much agree.

You know, the whole thing is interesting to me. Like, I think some conservatives will at least state that they support these things as well, but just want it to be more voluntary and privately done through charity or whatever. Which is a distinction I don't personally care too much about. Just do it in what ever method works the best.

At the end of the day, if both are set up well, I don't see why either method wouldn't work.
People just want to feel like their purposely giving the money, rather than it being "stolen" from them.

What's stupid is the 65 years old rule for retirement funds.

If I'm happy with my savings and investments at 50, why can't I retire then? The average American male lives to be 78. 65 leaves you a mere 13 years.

There are ways to take money out of your 401k without fees and before the age limit.

You have to do a transfer to your IRA. Once it's in your IRA, you wait 5 years, then you can take out that amount
