Visually, however, you have to code in a display with additional digits. If one of those digits is almost never going to be used, it's not worth the effort and visual clutter, so you might as well stick with one less than the even multiple of ten. Even if you get into using scientific notation, you're still going to want to cap the number of digits on the exponent so the number will fit in the display you design. Again, we're talking early 1980s home computer technology here. And really the idea behind FF was a way to play what is essentially D&D on that technology, which was no small feat for the time, and with very limited memory, with large detailed sprites. Every. You can be infected for days and not know it, and in that time you're spreading the virus to everyone around. Then when you do exhibit symptoms, your lungs fill up with fluid and you need to be put on a respirator, and obviously we don't have 7 billion respirators lying around. Also, this is China we're talking about, they are definitely not reporting accurate numbers. Plus lunar new year just happened. And they were big games for the time too. Mostly just been hunting all the secrets and farming upgrades and whatnot. So I noticed the start of the Vega level actually looks kinda terrible. Kinda seems like that part of the game didn't get as much attention as other parts of the game. If you're going to replay Doom 2016 in anticipation for Eternal, go into the mouse and keyboard settings and turn off Razer Chroma. Boosted my fps by like 100, not even joking. I thought my GPU was dying or something, the game was running like ass.
