When I sold 10 things, I wrote them with reasoning to increase. 1, i was fulfilling orders, 2, I was selling in-demand items. They increased it to 100. When I reached 100 quickly, they automatically increased it to 800

Looks like selling in general sucks. Haven't tried selling anything yet but ebay only lets you sell 10 items a month or $500 worth a month (whichever happens first). And some of this stuff doesn't seem to sell quickly at all looking at ebay selling history.

Like I have 35 Shining Legends Boosters if I open things up but they don't sell often at all. So my best bet would probably be to sell like in like batches of 10 for $50? At $5 a pack it would perfectly cover all the shining legends boxsets and everything else remaining would be profit at that point.

I went from a 10 limit to 800 in 2 months!

I only for the pins because they were on 'clearance' in the Walmart I happened to be in as bundles. Although seems their clearance price wasn't even that great (2x pin sets for $24)

I did find some Magearna and Volcanion Mythical Collections for $20 each but quick google search said it wasn't worth buying. Same with the Team Skull Pin Collection for $26 and Legacy Evolution Collection for $22.

Just the darkrai collection with 4 packs in, for cheaper than anywhere online. Double money if you disassemble and sell!

And I have opened 7 hidden fates packs and realized how awesome they are, yes. Do you scan and measure pixels for PSA grading before you send them?

I'll give you a super distinct list of what I need, but I ordered from somewhere and they gave me a random partial refund without communication, so I'm waiting to see what is coming! Lol!

Do you guys do anything else for work, or do you make a livelihood? Is there a way I could get things below retail or is that the business secret?

I can very easily see me crunching numbers in spreadsheets and starting to buy/sell this type of stuff (in general, not just HF/DP). Just googling things, it seems pretty easy to turn a decent profit.

Just try to not go too deep and live off your profits. I've been buying and selling Animal Crossing cards (started with my own collection) with great results, so I have a foundation that I'll build on, rather than investing my hard-earned money! Now I'm just looking for ways to make something long term, as well as collecting using my profits only!

If you're opening packs for profit, low volume is gambling. Managing the demand and buying in large amounts at below retail...you're going to make money!

Also, cards usually lose PSA out of the packs for printing lines, bad edges and cut(equal sized border top and bottom)

But you're not going for profit tomorrow! I bought the HF premium power collections mostly, which have 3 promo cards, a jumbo, a poster and 7 packs.

Bought for $65 CAD x8.

Sell promos for 25-30 total
Jumbo for 8
Poster for 6
Packs for 10-12 each...

Or the sealed box for $140. But it's a shame to let HF go too early!

If Greninja is worth more, it's almost definitely because of being relevant in the game. It might go down in value

I'm pretty sure Detective Pikachu will appreciate veeeery slowly, but what do I know!

I still want more Hidden Fates.... i have a feeling I'm going to want to open some. It's fun to open packs that contain valuable cards, but the true value will be holding onto the packs!

Also if you open live a pack on video I will 100% know if it has been altered.

I'll take a pic tomorrow. It seems the front row in the premium powers collection all have weird looking tops and bottoms.

For shiny vault, I got Lyncanroc GX(hyena one) and Articuno GX, as well as Sudowoodo. I love these cards!

Chris! Can you confirm that hidden fates packs have poor, tampered-looking seals at the top and/or bottom?

Hold on and sell single packs for a few years! Like I said, sets with 50x less remarkable cards that were produced in an extremely abundant fashion, are selling for 20x their original value.

Or get 8 psa 10 shiny charizards like Chris!

I've decided to open one powers collection (7 packs) for now. Wanted to get the promo cards out and the packs looked tampered with. I've read online that a lot if not most of the reprint look like that.

Going to open to see if they've been messed with!

Also, you have 50% chance the pull shiny from the shiny vault, 50% to get a reverse holo of the main set.

I looked at those, they aren't available so presumably sold out.

They apparently have them in store in the area but not sure how that even works as they do curbside pickup and you can't add them to your cart online to do curbside pickup so....

It looks like they either are sold out online or can't be bought online.

Get the Ultra Ball or Great Ball collections on there. I'm trying to order from canada. They have 10 packs in them so are priced lower per pack!

Oh, and I was talking mostly about sealed cards.

For individual cards, Charizard will appreciate. Just get it graded and you should be good. It's hard to say exactly which cards will only go up.

What types of cards appreciate in value with time? I never followed Pokemon TCG, but I know it uses a rotating format unlike YGO, so I'm curious if it's predictable what kind of cards are worth collecting that will appreciate in value down the line

mostly all. big appreciations have rare cards. Hidden Fates has a shiny subset and a $1000 card(shiny charizard) and the only way to get them are through collection sets (no singles or booster boxes) so they could see the sharpest incline after they are out of print.

Both, mostly! For me, I'm trying to let my collecting sustain itself so I essentially can collect for free or at a big discount. Chris runs a card business so for him it's buying them under msrp, selling sealed for msrp, and opening for singles (I'd assume!) Pokemon cards seems like easy money if you're playing the long game, tbh. Some Black and White series packs sell for $50-100 and weren't as limited as hidden fates.

I did buy a repackaged primal clash pack (original booster pack in cardboard and plastic?) that promised "legacy pack + 1 foil card." Now the foil promised could just be a reverse holo, but I pulled a FA Professor Birch's Observations.

I guess if packs were weighable, they could promise a rare holo or above, but I'm not sure if you could weigh x/y.

I plan on buying a couple if I run into them just to sell in the future when their value goes up. They're not part of a set I collect so I'm leaving them in the packs

I bought 8 Premium Power Collections (46 USD each - selling promo cards to save almost half)
I bought 3 Mewtwo Pin Collections (16 USD each)
And 1 Great and Ultra Ball Collection each (both 56 USD)

I think I did well for pricing. Only bought mostly from online game stores that have better prices than retail outlets. I don't think I did bad with the prices.
