Japan went from having a slight advantage early in the WWII Pacific theater to overwhelming defeat because they made a series of tactical and strategic blunders (in addition to underestimating the US). Midway being the biggest example of this. The Japanese force was superior to the American force on paper prior to Midway but basically messed up in almost every possible way before and during the battle.

Yeah why iirc i brought up training in a earlier post as well. I know they lost but thr movie 300 and the real story its based on is a good example of how superior training means more than numbers.

I think its more of the stigma. Lots of people always say how many fast food places suck. But they still go to them. Sometimes, I think people are saying that because everyone else around them says it...

Also, some locations do suck... I do hear Canada has higher food standards than the US, though...

It won't be easy. The main problem is that you have a bunch of people who have grown up with the imperial system and no driving need to convert to the metric system. Suddenly having everything go from miles to meters or from pounds to grams will result in a LOT of disruption no matter what you do. Whoever puts it forwards would basically be committing political suicide as well. So, here's what I think it would take.

1) Bi-partisan support on a universal level. No holdouts or anything. Even one vote against could result in mass outrage. Basically, the common man needs to believe that this is something that is not only going to happen but NEEDS to happen. So having even some old fogy going 'I don't see why we need to ditch the old way' will provide a rallying point. It doesn't really matter WHY they vote against. They could be some lovey-dovey hippy who refused to convert because they see it as somehow discriminatory. That person will be a rallying-point for the anti-metric crowd. Once that rally starts the rest will likely start changing their votes for political power. Unity is ESSENTIAL!

2) Educational reforms. The imperial system will need to be PURGED from schools. No holdouts allowed in the lesson plans. The kids will be exposed to the imperial system in their normal life enough and not the metric.

3) Packaging change enforcement. Make companies drop imperial measurements from their product labeling. You'll likely see a bunch of sizes change as a result; but that's neither here nor there.

4) Roadsign change. This shouldn't be hard and can be done gradually; but it needs to be done.

Gradually is key imo. Start with things having both metric and imperial but teach metric as the main one in schools as older generations start dying off start scaling back how much imperial measurements are used until it no longer is.

Why i like midnighter and Apollo. Outside them being a married couple and midnighter making the occasional flirty pun towards Apollo you really wouldnt know. Even when they havent been together outside them showing midnighter having a one night stand or some barely existing story wise bf its the same you wouldnt know. In fact I have a issue of a midnighter and Apollo comic and even their love for each other let alone being gay isnt brought up once iirc.

Depends. Sometimes id argue the coke comes out tasting better. The syrup to carbonated water ratio isnt always consistent so sometimes it tastes really good (more syrup) sometimes not. I wont get mt dew because the machines seem to screw that up more than any other soda.

Still minimum wage. They have a different minimum and iirc the employer has to make up the difference to regular minimum if tips didnt cover it. You probably got more unless it was a shitty resturaunt or you where bad at your job.

Tends to bug cooks actually that they just their ass in a hot kitchen and thr wait staff typically takes home more money.

I do have sympathy though. I couldnt handle not having a very good idea how much money im gonna make a month and then it also being less during certian parts of the year just cause seasonal shit.

On topic. Yes both full time and part time. So glad thats behind me. I work a job thats 100 times easier and I get like 6 times more

Most recent one that kind of bothered me was The umbrella academy. There is a character in that show that is considered physically deformed, and he's quite self conscious about it and reclusive. Then at one point he gets upset goes out and has women chasing him at a club, then comes home with one and they have sex. Like seriously, this dude goes out for just 1 night.

Yes we are underataffed nationwide. Fully staffed you still dont get official breaks though. They want you there incase shit hits the fan as people could die even in fully staffed scenarios. Also in my state fastfood workers are specifically mentioned in labor law as not having a right to a break so I dont think a job such as mine would fare well in fighting for one. Seriously its not a physically demanding job 99.9 percerent of the time. Enough so here on night shift most employees fall asleep half the night.

Just sucks for us smokers. But I dont feel thats a valid argument for a break.

Yeah. It's good to have it in case. With my new (old) full time job, a once a month job, and old (kind of) part time job, I've been able to save up more money. Getting 5-7 paychecks a month really helps. Haha. And one goes directly to my savings. So, there's that, as well...

I get one check a month. And they have to be dicks and pay you early in december. Sure my January check is gonna look killer but ive had to go longer with less money than normal.

Maybe. But it's better to be able to move it when you do actually need it. And you can always just not go on the site much. It takes a little willpower, but should be fine. I mean, it's better to be in the savings with the possibility of moving it instead on in you checking where using it is way easier...

Perhaps i could. I did save about 3k in cash at my last job and didnt start spending it until I quit. I actually wanna do that again too have a in cash savings in case of moments where i absolutely need the money now.

You may be able to call if all you want to do is add a savings account to you accounts. I can't be sure, but I would probably try that first if you have free time. Like in the morning before going to sleep, give the bank a call to see if there is anything you can do without actually going to the bank...

Im usually going to be about the time the bank opens but I suppose I'll stay up later one day. Thee only purpose of savings for me it to prevent me from spending it. Being able to move the money around from a website might hurt that.... So Idk if it would be worth it.

Dont have it in savings but its in checking. I should have a few thousand in there. I never spend all of my pay and it just keeps building up. I want to go put some of it in savings but working graveyard shift I never wanna get up early enough to go to the bank. I need to set up the online thingy where I can do it there but once again i believe i have to go to the bank to set it up.

The idea that a boss could make you work for over 12 hours (even just half of that), without a break, sounds like slavery to me. People do need to rest, eat and drink.

People have been known to pull 16 hour shifts because their relief never came in. Hell during bad hurricanes people have been on the clock for 72 hours before. Now in those cases they do make up some make shift beds and let you sleep. But you still get paid even while sleeping and its likely overtime pay at that pay at that point

It is because its considered a essential job. I mean we get to eat and stuff but we cant leave our post and cant smoke there. But yeah no breaks, no cell phones allowed on property no un authorized reading material which is anything non job related or really anything entertainment wise. Provided its a boring night which you hope it is, i basically stare at walls and people for 12 hours and walk around once in awhile.
