Auto or cinematic cameras that hijack the camera position/control during combat or travel... especially if action direction is relative to the camera position.

Something like this happened to me in Mass Effect. I was in a lower area of the Citadel when I found and walked through a ghost wall. Beyond it was unfinished framework, like a skyscraper being built. I went to the edge to look down (bad idea) and slipped-off to the planet's surface far below. The camera stayed in the Citadel while my Shepard's corpse kept rag-dolling in tiny circles on the surface. I think it ended by me exiting to the dashboard.

Actually that is the 1986 starflight.

For both series.
To be precise:
- Paul Reiche III (Star Control) worked *with* Starflight's creators on their games--S1 (1986) and S2 (1989)
- Greg Johnson (Starflight) worked *with* Star Control's creators on their games--SC1 (1990) and SC2 (1992)

So, Reiche inspired... himself? No, check each original release's credits (I've played/beaten all of them); [Fred] Ford and Reiche made SC their own thing with help from Johnson.

[ Starflight and Star Control are different types of games. Both Starflight games are RPG/simulation, Star Control 1 is strategy/action, and Star Control 2 is action/adventure. ]

Looking at the top-half of each Silent Hill 3 black label version (front cover artwork, banner removed)...

... from most to least narrative artwork. For top-half only, definitely "J" version; for whole cover, "U/C" version.
.

The GCW SH3 artwork was great, but *this* (below) probably is the best SH3 fan-made artwork I've seen.

I first heard that the original 2033 was not good. After I started playing it I realized that's BS; the game is fine.

The original Last Light also is fine, but 1) actions that change the game are subtle, and 2) even if flashing lights don't bother you, the last quarter of the game is migraine-bait.

Actually, I like the top-half of the JP artwork for Silent Hill 3.

[ Very good ground-and-figure imagery. It's the bottom-half that's off-putting--too many graphic art labels, either over-sized, linear, or with poor blend/contrast. ]
.

Years ago, Game Case World had a "Limited Edition" series of custom Silent Hill 1-5 artwork in clear translucent DVD cases. Very nice, but an incomplete set.

The older you are, the more difficult it can be.

An adult who attempts to correct the word use of another adult can mishandle the situation, causing one to "lose face" even if neither speaker feels embarrassed. Friends of mine who have a different first language learned formal English. For those reasons, formal use makes them act reserved; informal use makes them self-conscious or visibly nervous.

Nothing compares to spoken usage. It is not without it's challenges, though.

[ When I try to use a friend's first language, they often tell me, "You can't say that!", but not what is correct or why. lol ]

Too many games have their spells nerfed or neutered, making the higher level versions of each type worthless.

However, Dragon's Dogma has decent magick (spells, sigils, and enchantments).

For dragon breaths I guess smoke would make the most sense but if it just melts or burns people than it's no different from acid/flame?
