I acknowledged what state he was in the very post you quoted. He was a drunk guy sleeping in his car. Again, why do people with guns need to be there to handle that? The absence of armed officers doesn't mean that the only options are to just let him drive drunk or kill him. The best outcome here would have been to just take him home and arrest him when he sobers up if they really felt the need to punish him. And you don't need a gun or any type of weapon to offer a person a ride home.
