It didn't look too bad - other than you know, getting intentionally sick. The room was your typical single hospital room with a desk, bed, etc. You could probably work in a TV and a gaming console or two. Plus computer hookups, etc.

Once you're in, you're in though. No in or out and nothing from the outside that you didn't bring in beforehand. The only people you can meet and visit during the study are medical staff. No friends, no family.

The lawyers said the final straw came on March 6 when Amira overheard her co-workers talking about her to each other and making comments including "black people will do anything for money" and "i don't like her".

Amira says she's gotten comments from her co workers that included "this is why we don't hire children', He didn't deserve this' and 'Are you happy the manager got fired?"

So in a span of a few weeks she and a co-worker have been:
Shown that racist customers are more valued than black employees
Worked in a hostile, racist environment due to their co-workers
Had superiors who have allowed this to go one/ignored the complaints

At the end of the day, Olive Garden is responsible for their employees. Especially if this isn't an isolated incident.

I posted this on another board.

I have a good friend in Firenze and the gist of what she's told me is that some guy came into a hospital sick with COVID-19. He sat in the hospital for hours before receiving treatment. He went home got worse and days later went back to the hospital (again waiting around in the lobby) where he was finally tested and diagnosed with the virus.

He may have infected 200 people each time he went to the hospital, plus whomever he came into contact with doing his day-to-day routine. As many as 1000 people were exposed or infected before they even knew the virus existed. The horse was out of the barn before they even knew there was a horse.

They're not sure where Italy's patient zero got COVID-19 but he didn't travel to China.
