Did you watch the stream I linked? It looks more and more like you said each time they show it. He's currently in The Underdark and it's properly "dark" and gritty looking.

The music was.. just barely 'right' and yeah.. the Underdark does look really gritty. I watched this with a more open mind because I am a big fan-nerd of BG and CRPG's in general.

I guess I'm used to CRPG's looking dated for lack of a better word, but man I just wish it had more 'gore'. It's crazy how tiny sprites and the type of sounds they used.. the interactions in the world you had just could immerse you that way

I still think they should have just made this it's own thing. it didn't need the Baldur's Gate name. it really has next to nothing to do with those old games. the world Baldur's Gate is set in, is not just from those games. it's a massive world called the Forgotten Realms, and used to be the most famous and widely used Dungeons and Dragons world setting. it's not like they have to call it BG just cause its in the same world. and even if it is set in the same region, I think it would have been better if they called it Sword Coast or something. that's the wider region that the city of Baldur's Gate is in. the name is just being abused for that sweet sweet brand recognition.

Disappointing for me as a huge fan of BG - the art direction totally kills it but on it's own it seems fine.

The BG series is just wayy darker, more 'realistic' - this game just seems too much like a cartoon in comparison

I keep it the same too, it's great for me since it's a nice bright layout to keep my mind bright and cheery tbh

I feel like that end sound should've came first but that's just me, sounds pretty cool actually

Rad stuff, I really like their eyes for some reason.. it really breathes the character of shyness into both of the characters. I watched the YT version first and the Vimeo one just to see the difference in how the volume affects the whole presentation and I think it's spot on

The music is really charming I feel and I honestly think the synergy in the pacing of the animations and the vibe of the music is also spot on

The voice of the second character needs to be tamed a bit though and it needs to be smoothed out in some form to match the narrator. Either the slightest, super tiniest bit of volume adjustment (I'm talking like a microlevel lol) or some processing by using an audio suite like Audacity and a free VST plug-in to tame the highs of the voice via a compressor.. maybe even a de-esser to control that amount of breath in there. Something to think about - I think that's a nit-pick as far as my ears go

But a super job deserves super praise - I really enjoyed it, it's super touching :,)

I've always dreaded a routine, and things lately have been even more routine than usual

Well routines are different from having daily objectives, just make up side-quests for yourself and see if you either get XP or a feasible item out of it

Finding a routine you like and feel personally invested in to get you out of funks is important.. sounds like youre in one thats not really fun for you atm

I live with my two best friends, got a decent group of friends outside of them, have a good family life, have a job in my field, and am financially pretty well off.

If I were a lonely shut in with no job or money I could at least wrap my head around this malaise

Maybe you just need something else to engage you - create some form of excitement or spark in ya yknow? Helps if its something youve never tried, shit, even cooking a new plate of food and going out to get the pieces can be pretty engaging and extremely gratifying

I "believe" in the moonlanding since I have a physics background and am aware of how science has always been hundreds of years ahead of technology. I know where to look and have the training to understand the technology and theory if I so chose to "verify" the authenticity of the landing.

One thing I'm curious about is if you have zero technical training and are going off of trusting our great engineers, why look down on people who don't believe their words or are challenging them? The whole purpose of science is to have every theory scrutinized to help us get closer to the truth, or the best explanation what is observed. If someone's challenging something as simple as why the sky is blue, flex your knowledge. They still don't believe, move on. If too many people disbelieve in it, then there's a cultural problem and arguing isn't going to change things.
